Air Force G

Gfx & Design: 6/10

I see that you were going for a gold theme, and it really reminded me of NSMB2, but the tileset was a bit too bright for my taste. I suggest you use a shade of orange instead of pissyellow.
The same thing goes for the bullet launchers & bills, they were really bright, and really bland. To me it looks like you went into Paint.NET and turned up the brightness, because even the outlines are a shade of yellow.
The blocks & backgrounds in the boss room were really hard to tell apart, I suggest you make the background darker.

The golden pipes looked okay, though.

Other than that, this was really good, it used the airship tileset to it's full potential, and I especially liked the nuts as moving platforms.

Music: 6/10

This wasn't exactly what I expected to hear in an airship level, but it still sounded dramatic and adventurous, which really set the mood for the level.

I didn't like that there was no special music for the boss and that the level music just kept playing. If you put a boss at the end of the level, then at least give it proper boss music. ;)

NPCs: 7/10

OH BOY. Start the level and already get bombarded with bullet bills, bombs, wrenches, piranhas and more bullets and cannon balls from every direction. There was way too much going on, and it was really hard to dodge all of them, especially since the autoscroll was so fast.

The power-ups were ok, maybe one more and you're fine to go. The last power-up before the boss was really unfairly placed though, and it shouldn't be that hard to reach, especially not before the boss.

Gameplay: 7/10

The first thing I noticed was the autoscroll. The second thing I noticed was that I had died from the autoscroll.
I had no problem with the fast autoscroll, but if you're gonna put that in a level, at least give the player a save environment to get used to it before you start bombrading them with enemies.

There was also a really unfair spot where giant cannon balls were falling down over a platform. The spawners in general were set to really fast and made the level extremely hard.
It was still doable without cheating though, so it's not completely impossible.

The boss was nice, I liked the idea with the two bosses, but the falling spikes were placed in really inconvenient spots and made the thing a lot harder so that I eventually had to cheat anyway to beat the level.

Over all, this was a nice level, it's definitely worth a play, but there were just a little too many things that prevented this from going to the "Best" section. 6.5/10, moved to Pretty Good.

I'm surprised you put this off as "hard". you just need to know when to time things.

well yeah, not really hard, more like "challenging"
