Athletic Atmosphere

Postby zioy » Tue Aug 05, 2014 6:15 pm

First off, this level is kind of easy, with hard twists and gimmicks woven in, so don't complain about difficulty.

Second, this level took all day yesterday (around 9 hours of work total) because I was in a rush to finish it but I kept taking breaks to browse the forum.

Third is the screenshot. Only one. The screenshot is small, so that nobody can judge solely off of it. That would, in this case, be ridiculous.

Fourth is the download.

Have fun with this sky level!

Good Idea. Maybe I should start doing that. I'll check it out. Looks cool from the screenshot :P.

I haven't played many sky levels, I mostly play land levels, but this one is good :D, and I actually found it hard

Thanks for the feedback, and by the way, the small screenshot is also to make sure I don't ruin the nonlinearness. Well, it's mostly linear, actually....

I played it, and the fence sucks you down.

Fence? You mean in the final section? The climbable ones?

Please be more specific here because it is kind of confusing, really.

I am looking this Level further on later. Currently it looks very nice so far.

Thanks bossedit! I'm looking forward to the review. Anyway, the fences haven't caused any problems for me, in fact, they have literally nothing special about them. No CGFX, layers/events, etc.

Ok, this has to be a good review. i mean I updated it. I hope it doesn't lead to another downrep... A re-review :( :P Had a small error.

gameplay: 8/10 I think there might be a little to many switch blocks. Maybe you could use less next time. :) Also it's like an apocalypse when you get the red switch. The chasing bullets were good, but the normal bullet bills got annoying at that area. I also didn't like the part where you ride a snifit. I did like the part where you get the key though. It was fun because there were areas of the level that gave you a break from all those challenging parts of the level. I liked the bullet bill guns that moved up and down too. I liked how you got the beginning switches (before the red one) :) The moving bullet bill gun area was the best difficulty in that level.

tiling: 9/10 You could've maybe used spikes instead. Also maybe a little more variety in it next time??? (don't go overboard with variety and get your levels into an arguement about clash like me :P) I did like how the clouds looked like though. All puffy and white+pink or blue. I did like the small amount of variety with the little clouds below the normal clouds. I liked how there were lots of slopes though, they always make the level a little trickier.

Scenery: 8/10 Only one type of cloud... Gets kinda boring after a while, but you didn't leave the background bare or anything. They looked way to dark blue on the outside. Maybe you might've been able to add an smb1 cloud and change your clouds outline to light blue maybe the blue outline makes them look weird. I did like the background. Looked better then any default cloud background. The clouds with the blue outline were actually ok. They looked like typical clouds for the most part.

Last complement and criticsm: Maybe a little more flying koopas??? It would make it feel more like a sky world. I did like that there were many koopa shells to kill off the bullet bills that follow you.

I hope I really did a good review. It took me over 15 min :P

Is this enough??? Rating: 8.3 :)

If I were a level judge I'd approve that review because it's really constructive and descriptive.

Anyway, since I used Mudkip's cloud tileset, it was really hard to find good BGOs. Seems like my tiling choices were the biggest complaint here, I guess.

Yeah, I think that makes sense, but the smb1 cloud idea was pretty good. LOL Sent the review to GLuigiX Because he was the one who told me I failed last time (which helped me :) )

No... the level review wasn't accepted. I fixed the mistakes though, so it might have another chance. The mistakes were small this time :D

In that case, I now want an official judge review/approved review on this :P that way it's out of the levels section.

I'm sorry. :( I'll try next time (unless anyone ever sees my updated review :P)

No, I liked the review. Mostly what I want is the level moved to a section, whether that be from your review or an official judge's.

Ok. No one really seems to be around in this topic except for us though. :P It should move to another topic. It would always be easier for the judges if they didn't have to move it themselves :P

Koolkat :P My level never got a review in the first place. :P It's always going to be in this levels section. :|
