I'm not the biggest fan of joke levels. However, the main factor that's good about them is the fact that you can pretty much do whatever you want with them. From making you scared, to making you cry, to making you laugh, they really are unique if your goal is to make them unique and you put some time into them. Though, when it comes to joke levels, spam is always something to avoid. So, Superiorstar, if you really are planning to make a joke level, I recommend you stick to the cry/laugh/scare factor, and refrain from making levels spammy, because they're a waste of time, but a good laugh, a good scare, and a good cry, are not a waste of time, because different emotions are what make the world.

They're good as long as they are funny. Many people fail at this point. Imo BTB is the best joke level designer.

Noooo, Mudkip , BTB isn't the best level designer , Quill was the best joke level designer (note: see "aisaometer" in tob5).

wait wasn't deadfish also the best one because of 2 levels in contests he submitted

No Knux is the best joke level designer. You seen Block Bollocks? That's an epic one that makes me laugh every time, no matter how many times.

But as for joke levels, I'd stay away from them unless there's a reason you're putting them in, such as if they're in an episode, or just for fun. Joke levels are famously unpredictable, but you can usually see one coming from an SMBX community member who's been around for over a year and knows what a joke level is.

are you kidding me how was block bollocks a joke

If you want some inspiration you should check out chacarron macarron which was (not obviously) made by me. Or well just play Jeffs Revenge and lmao

Never saw any joke level Quill made, but I'm sure it has to be good cuz Quill is an awesome level designer with a good humor imo. As for deadfish I can agree, he's a really good jk level designer, too. He made such an awesome joke level (idk when, I guess when Star Cave was still a thing) I could never finish because I had to roflmao every second while playing.

Personally I find (almost) every Joke Levels rather... useless, especially if you are putting them into a regular SMBX Episode. I mean, for an ordinary Mario Game (or any Game) it should not be a single level that has been filled with Joke Levels including horrible graphics, gameplay and Language.

castlewars, you had wrong choice of choosing this  , i don't seen that level as laugh and that made me look no effort what-so-ever (judges throwed 0/1 at it)

aisaometer looked really better than that , having epic music, creativity and much effort , but am I right saying this ?

I like joke levels, as long as they're actually funny.
