I feel like this is going to be one of those threads "answered --- locked" but I'm sure this has happened to other people so let others speak out too, please.

So, there have been a few instances with me where I downrep someone, and they downrep me back saying "he downrepped me for a moot or asinine reason" instead of reporting the downrep I gave them. I'm not mad that I'm getting downreps because I don't find that a big deal, but I just find it unfair that people downrep people back for no reason. How come no one is making use of the report? And if I or someone else really is downrepping someone for a moot or asinine reason, why am I not getting a consequence, or am I just nonexistent to the staff when it comes to the reputation mod?

I think that's because not many users knows that you can report reps too.

Kep, there are a lot of users here. That someone could also use the report button.

Also, this is a bit off-topic, but could the staff remake the reputation mod announcement?

I actually researched all the downreps that you have and the ones you have. The only asanine or moot downreps given were the ones directed towards you. I don't really know why the users that did this (This doesn't make me happy because both of them are my friends) and didn't just take the downreps.

You gave them because you were genuinely thinking they were being childish and that's why you gave the downreps. I don't see what's "asanine" about them.

Well, that certainly was nice to hear, considering I thought I would receive nothing but more hatred after the creation of this thread.

I don't think that downrepping me because its his opinion that I was acting childish is a legitimate reason to downvote someone.

Retaliation downreps should be/are against the reputation mod rules, wherever those are.

If someone does that, please report it.
