I don't know if this is in the wrong thread or not, but what is "Clashing?"

8Bit + 16Bit = Avoid. Rarely gets good.
NSMB + Anything Else = Major clashing.
SMB1 + SMB2 = Good, and can sometimes be great.
SMB1 + SMB3 = Good, but can be catastrophic.
SMB1 + SMW = Can turn out okay.
SMB2 + SMB3 = Almost always works out great.
SMB2 + SMW = Avoid. There is major clashage. (Yeah. I said clashage.)
SMB3 + SMW = Okay if used in the right way. Rarely exceeds great.
SMB1 + SMB2 + SMB3 = Actually, this can turn out really good if you use it the right way.
SMB1 + SMB2 or SMB3 + SMW = Avoid. Rarely exceeds great.
SMB2 + SMB3 + SMW = Avoid. Rarely exceeds great.
SMB1 + YI = Only for special blocks.
SMB2 +YI = Only a maybe. Probably won't turn out that good.
SMB3 + YI = No.
SMW + YI = Since SMW is very cartoon-ish, this would actually work good.
SM/LoZ + YI = SM would be a definite no. LoZ would have rare circumstances.
SM and LoZ should never be together or with anything else. It is RARE that this EVER looks good.
NOTE: However, this notepad is just giving you a general idea of what tiles clash what do not,
that doesn't mean you need to follow them, you're free to do whatever you want, but this is just
a general thought of the community.
Thanks!bossedit8 wrote:This is more like a Guide than a explanation but:Notepad wrote:This file was made to help people not get clashing in their levels, made by "JoeyFireFlower":

Well, that does not really mean that it is bad to have some grass inside a castle themed Stage. Designers can design whatever they want but the gameplay and if the level is playable is the most important thing we have.Christian07 wrote:Sincerely clash is mixing styles. Uh, it depends, if your castle is some sort of jungle castle, or ruins, then grass is good, yes, if your castle is an underground lava castle inside a volcano, then grass, may not be so good (unless you recolor it to a more fitting color like red)bossedit8 wrote:Well, that does not really mean that it is bad to have some grass inside a castle themed Stage.
