as you guys may know, i bought Shovel Knight.
so like, i am happy to have a game that i consider good and i consider it makes part of the gaming community because i like something that others like.
and, well, suddenly, people don't seem to like Shovel Knight, like...
it's like, i bought something that I like and makes me part of the gaming community and well, it's like everyone just don't seem to like the game anymore.
my way to explain things is really poor, but i hope i made my idea clear...

People think SMBX is for noobs? WHAAAAAA??? A game with an infinite amount of possibilities, practically endless content, and the ability to actually make what you play is for NOOBS? I don't understand...
But yeah, I play several games that aren't considered "amazing" and I find them fun anyways. It doesn't really bother me if other people don't like them, so long as I enjoy them.

to be honest...while I have played cod games before and do actually think thats its actually pretty fun.
I will admit that I like games like mario, pokemon and etc...
Yet it seems most people in my school are in to call of duty and gta 5.
Don't get me wrong, like I said,I have fun with the cod games and also love gta 5.
But it seems that theres not to many people in my school that mostly only like games like I already told you all about like mario, pokemon and etc.
But while there are people in my school that don't really play games like cod, there are still alot that do.
Also I disagree that smbx is for noobs. And Im also pretty sure that some of my friends from school don't think so either.Even though they don't know to much about smbx.

I agree so much... Mario is the top-selling game franchise of ALL TIME. Second? Pokemon. Both considered "childish", "stupid", "immature" , etc.

I know! It's pure idiocy on those CoD extremists part. Also, when you think of a guy living in his mom's basement, what game do you picture him playing? I picture him playing CoD or Halo or something like those.
Halo. Because my friend is a complete addict. To that. Crappy. Game....

Thankfully I've never really been harassed at school for being a Nintendo fan… It was public info though, everyone knew I was a Kirby fanatic when Kirby Wii came out in 2011, et cetera. I had a lot of support from my friends, thankfully, who were also Wii owners and the like.
An associate of mine outside of school had this kind of viewpoint though. He was an asshole, he kept talking about how much Super Mario 64 sucked when I was playing it after Virtual Console was released, and talked about how Nintendo games were for "babies" and how Grand Theft Auto was the greatest. Thankfully I moved away, and I don't have to deal with him any more. I really haven't faced much "discrimination" aside from that though.

People think lego is even more lame...

Also a lot of people talk about minecraft way to much. I personally like nintendo and lego.

They're probably just reactionary currents who don't understand the hype. For a crowd-funded game, Shovel Knight is most likely one of the best of the best. There are loads of people who see how great the game is. Some of them backed it on sight. Everything I see about Shovel Knight screams "PLAY THIS GAME" but apparently quite a few people never grew up with an NES, nor a Super Nintendo, nor picked up a low-budget game. I can see why it would be hard for them to understand why it's so great at a mere glance. It's very easy for kids to see the appeal of a hyper-realistic shooter, or an action RPG like Skyrim. When you go from that to pixels on a 2D plane, people are looking at an entirely different culture. It's like me not seeing the appeal of a lot of Japanese television.
And I'm sure loads of people who never played SMW hacks or Super Mario All-Stars would look at SMBX and think the same thing. "Why do people think this is fun?" Well, I guess the best way is to show them. And if they still don't get it, it's not for them. You'll still find a lot of people who enjoy these games, though.

That's actually really hilarious. Most people who keep playing with legos/making SMBX levels/generally creative end up being business gods when they're older because all the jocks/CoD fanboys/etc. end up dropping out of high school/joining the military/dropping out of college and have crappy jobs because they're too busy in their mom's basement trash-talking people over Xbox Live to get a real education. And BTW people who are good at first-person shooters end up having horrible aim in real life.

You know,I think its okay to play games like COD,as long as you don't play it like all day and night.Like last time I played a COD game was like,4 months ago.And now I recently have been playing smbx and Minecraft, which are both really creative games. And I actually also do plan on being a game designer when I grow up.

But you get the general point, right? People who only care about the graphics of their games and not gameplay/fun factor are also complete idiots IMO.

Yeah thats also true.Like I understand how kids don't understand about how the first mario games were amazing and really fun to most people because there weren't born in that era,and lets just be honest, you have to actually play a game first to know if you like it or not.But I find it stupid when people are all like"OH!COD IS BETTER THEN MINECRAFT CUZ ITS GOT REALLY GOOD AND REALISTIC LIKE GRAPHICS WHEN MINECRAFT IS JUST A BUNCH OF CUBES OR SQUARES,SO UM...YEAH!*and im not saying that they always say it like this, but im just giving a example of how some people act when it comes to judging whether a game is better or not by its graphics and not the gamplay.
also another thing,I actually kind of suck at COD to be honest, like not horrible I guess, but whenever I play it,I um...well...get killed alot.
Edit:Lol I also totally failed at doing that, you can only have 3 quotes thing, since I did get rid of two but also screwed up the other ones in a way.

Well, this may sound hypocritical, but I am a PC gamer because the graphics are better (plus cheaper over time). However, I rarely play anything M-rated, except Halo 4 when my friend forces me to. Plus controllers are the most annoying crap ever. Mouse+keyboard ftw.

Thats fine,Im not saying that someone can't judge a game from its graphics, since in all honestly graphics are still one big part of making a game good. Also in my opinion/IMO,I like consoles and the pc both just as much.Like while I do have minecraft for the pc,I also have it for my ps3.Though since I haven't also played on my ps3 in like 4 months(yes,it wasn't only COD that I haven't played in like 4 months)I have been playing minecraft and other games on the pc more recently.

Honestly, Nintendo would make so much money if they released their games for PC. They actually lose money on every console sold (if they're the same as Microsoft/Sony in this case, I don't actually know 100%), so releasing their games on a third-party platform would actually be a great marketing scheme.

Thanks for making me feel better!
On another note,I agree, they should try to put there games on PC,or Ipod, maybe.
