Maybe you have to send the Labtop to a repair company/shop to resolve the issue or ask your parents about it. More I can't tell exactly.

ur first issue was using a laptop
yeah, back up anything you can; and (obviously) don't mess with any of the hardware trying to fix it yourself.
from my experiences, laptops are super fucking fragile so send it to an expert asap

That's the worst thing possible, not all laptops have SD card slots and they're so small and easy to lose.
Invest in an external hard drive or a large flash drive. At least flash drives you can attach to your keys or something. Back everything up, like I said on reghrhre's your LCD is probably damaged

Or,you could try backing it up on to 2 things. That way,if you lose one,you still have the other.

Or you know, he could invest in a good external hard drive that won't fail because he'll spend a decent amount of money on it and not have to worry about the copy time.
The laptop is a compaq, compaqs haven't been made since forever ago

Another Idea might be to zip up all his files and then send it to something like media fire. That way you can't lose your data easily. :)

That is a terrible idea, all of that could be easily accessed by the public. he'd be better off with a private service like dropbox or to buy an external hard drive. That way he wouldn't have to download everything to access it

Well at least could you stop saying that??? I mean it's kinda mean even though they are bad ideas. :P Well yes I think dropbox would be great for him because he can access things online. :)

its a terrible idea because mediafire is a public site that anyone could get those files from. iirc there is no private option unless you shell out some dough despite them giving a generous amount of space.

plus, if they happened to find copywritten material (ie, you upload all your music to there) they'll take it down at some point

Well, I think he could be set with dropbox. :) (unless he wants to buy an over $100 WD cloud :P)

Just need to save my smbx folders that's all. They are going to wipe my computer and reinstall everything necessary.
And fix the problem
