Multiple checkpoints without stars?

I was planning to use multiple checkpoints in final world of Yoshi's Island X... But it looks weird if you get a star at the checkpoint. The levels are too long to NOT have multiple checkpoints though. What do I do?

Your best bet is probably to just link multiple levels together.
Theoretically, you could complete the level and then make copies of it where certain warps within each "segment" take you to the next "segment," allowing the player to backtrack if necessary.

A little translation in case if you don't even understand english: If you use an event which start on the death of the checkpoint, it will trigger too when you die and you restart in the checkpoint. If you use an event to make a warp appear in the first checkpoint and you set as when the second checkpoint die, you'll have 2 checkpoints. Also remember to set in a layer the second checkpoint.
