You just have to extract the archive. There's no installation. You must run the executable

Which archive you have downloaded? If you got a full archive, the question: do you have an antivirus? Otherwise, I guess you didn't downloaded complete archive (possible connection reset in a middle of download). For just in a case, please try to download theese 3 parts from here: http://wohlsoft.ru/docs/SMBX_1.3.0.1/splitted/ and then try to extract. Please use 7-zip tool instead of WinRAR as it does better deal with 7z archives. If you wanna setup, you can try this: http://wohlsoft.ru/docs/SMBX_1.3.0.1/sm ... -setup.exe

Or. You can play it safe, and Purchase a Extract zip file software (Example: Winzip) like I did.

Why do that when there is safe and free software like 7zip?
Also could be an antivirus problem and it thinks the executable is suspicious and trashed it.
Consider as well downloading the newer version, SMBX2-Beta3

1). I would, but I already purchase the full version of Winzip back in March of this year...
and 2). I'm about to get a new laptop tomorrow from Best Buy, and I promise my father I wouldn't download any free software on it, so I have to play it safe

1. Yes but no need to suggest to others that they need paid software when there are free alternatives.
2. Silly promise to make since you're missing a lot of really good software. Not everything is monetized. There's tons of programs that aren't like Paint.NET, 7zip, even Unity that are free and you can just use discretion

Sounds good! although that would mean...
You can't play SMBX anymore? It is free software, after all.
And just because you pay for something doesn't mean it's legit, some suck money for nothing.
Back on topic, though, why would an anti virus scan it as suspicious, I mean a lot of people downloaded this and anti virus programs like Norton say if it's been recently downloaded in a certain time, or if it scans that it has been used more recently by people, how many downloads, ect. I don't think you can white list programs with other anti virus right?

How do I install episodes in smbx 1.3? Is that I can not install them in this smbx engine because this one does not recognize them. For example, the episode of Dr. willy's empire. By the by, In which version of smbx can I install the episode of the dr willy's empire? Thanks to you.

Put the episode in the worlds folder. Dr Wily's Empire will work in 1.3 or SMBX2.
And you should get SMBX2 BTW.
