No, no, a thousand times no.
Remember the chaos and drama back with CC6 when the judges had been picked, and people were whining about the bias of the voters because the popular ones got the position, not the experienced ones? They scrapped the poll to prevent things like that happening again and the judges were handpicked based on their ability and experience, not their popularity. As for me, I would have liked it if they used the same system used to decide level judges to decide contest judges (send reviews of a certain level to Valtteri and the best five reviewers are the judges).
That's actually a better idea then anything I've seen previously suggested, as it would allow not-so-popular users to get the chance to be a judge for this. Though if the voting system was to come back, people should have to post their votes in the topic, not use a forum poll that can be easily manipulated like what has happened in previous contests.

I personally like this system better than the nomination one. You have a point that other people would get chance to judge, but that can just as easily lead to issues such as the incident with Emral in this contest. My biggest problem with the nomination system is that judge candidates could be nominated who aren’t right for the job. A perfect example of this was in CC5 when Luigi.net got nominated due to there being a minimal number of candidates. I would absolutely hate to complain about the judges not doing that good of a job, but I wouldn't want to have judges that don't know what they're doing. Luigi.net was a good example of this in my opinion. And that's me talking. I can't imagine how other people would feel who might be a bit more open about their opinions about the judges. There would almost certainly be complains similar to this contest if a bad judge was selected and gave bad reviews/scores. Now, there is the fact that it is hard to know how well the judges will do if they have never judged before. For example, I don't think anyone would have expected Emral to give such low scores, but in my opinion hand-selecting the judges will be less likely to have negative results. There was the popularity issue a few contests ago which I found horribly unfair. Granted, that was the contest that I won,But in my opinion it still isn't right. While I do agree that it could be nice to give other judges a chance, I see too many things that could go wrong and there are the other contests to prove it.

I wish I had joined the forums early enough to enter. I didn't even know this existed!

Do not worry, you can join into the next Contest Event after like 2, 3, 4 or maybe 5 Months later... not exactly sure though.

You can join the next contest once it is coming up but this will take a while... like on a tough guess over 2 or 3 Months later.

Then, huh, Emral is the champion, interesting I would say, well, here's my gift:
Shit sprite
And for those seeking a different contest to entertain until the CC9 start, try the AirShip Contest 4 (Sky Levels Edition).

When is the CC9 planned to be announced? I hope it's soon because I'm excited to participate!

I've already started on my level. I won't be surprised at all if people will mistake my CC9 level for yours. c:
It's probably going to start around September-October.

I'm already about half way done with my CC9 level, I hope the hard work with the fresh gimmicks really pay off, because my dream is to reach high tier four/low tier five.
