Do we have to give credit to graphic designers for things that can v. easily be ripped from Spriters Resource? I've just been wondering this for a while. I mean, it doesn't seem necessary if you can easily make it yourself

I think the general rule is that if the sprite sheet on Spriters Resource tells you to give credit, you should, but otherwise it's up to you. If it's a directly ripped sprite though you probably don't have to worry too much.

So I can rip some octogoombas and nobody would even think about it? I think it would be polite to ask unless specified.

Not saying for custom graphics, but more for graphics in an actual game made by big company developers, and not a single artist
Hence the part with "it doesn't seem necessary if you can easily make it yourself", which, I was referring to downloading the rom of the game itself and ripping the sprites from there
Think before you bump scrub

In that case, I think it would be alright to just rip them.
