I have finished remaking my first SMBX episode!
What's the difference to the original episode?
- Remade levels.
- Remade world map.
- Altered storyline.
Information about the original episode
Valtteri Island is my first episode, updated a million times with many versions of SMBX. And surprisingly, many people liked it back when I posted it on the original SMBX forum. It's a casual episode heavily influenced by the classic Mario platformers.
Plot
One day, Valtteri captures Mario, Luigi, Daisy, Toad and Link and traps them in his home, Valtteri Island. The gang will have to fight Valtteri in order to get out.
Ignore the out-of-place path in the Dark Land. It's going to be invisible.
Level screenshots
I'm taking way less screenshots than I took from my previous episodes.

Looking good and nostalgic there, rather reminiscent of the original SMBX while also adding the flair of the newer versions. However, why is Bowser fought, yet Valtteri is supposed to be the final boss?

I haven't played this fully yet, but in tandem with a recent discussion I discovered that the ice flower in the level from your bottom-right screenshot (in the levels section of your post) is being pushed into the lava. It's specifically the one in the block that is shown in the shot. I think there's a way to circumvent that, like for example having it on a layer that disappears on a timer right before the flower would hit the lava—this would work because the timing at which it can occur is very specific.
Barring that, you could possibly add invisible blocks that would block the flower from hitting the lava but the player would still fall through them. I'm not sure what would happen when the flower would squish against the wall though.
Sorry I don't have other things to comment on at the moment, but I thought it was worth enough alone to mention and I don't know when I'll get to playing this.

Like wow! This looks amazing! Haven't tried the new version yet but from the screenshots it looks great. First, your skill with world maps is insane. Second, how did you get a fully fleshed picture like that for the world map? It looks cool but how did you get the full sized picture?

I took many screenshots and put them together in Paint.NET. You can also do it with Microsoft Paint very easily.

Thanks, I'm glad that you like it. I was basically into 16-bit renditions of the original 8-bit graphics when I made this and hence many levels have those. :P

Hmm, yeah I partially agree with electricpretzel, despite they being shorter but the difficultly curve just in world 1 is immense and I'm stuck on the A level and can barely just get passed Forest of Chad, lol. Overall though, I must say impressive job and even though I'm rather stuck, I have to mention that you did an extraordinarily splendid job constructing this remake and I am speechless with how neat the design is and all beyond that. And needless to say, the custom graphics are flawlessly epic.

It's precisely because it's somewhat hard to some people which makes this project so good appealing, it's normal for some people to have a hard time with your project Val, as there are some exaggeratedly hard levels on it, or somewhat puzzle-like levels, like Yoshi's Link Farm. But there's nothing wrong on it, I actually like this project very much.

It's the Egoraptor sound pack. It's the most awesome sound pack in the universe.
