Hello,

I used to play SMBX back in 2010 and a couple of days ago I decided to replay Invasion 2. Again I got stuck in the tank levels like I did back then in 2010 but I also found the bullet bill gun levels as amusing as back then. I still remember my friend telling me about this game and I went and installed it, it was version 1.2.2 back then. Then one day 1.3 was released and I was so happy to see the release of battle mode. The next day I invited that friend at my house and we played the battle mode a lot. I even had made some custom battle levels that no one else ever got to play. Too bad that now the levels are already gone as I factory reset my computer in 2013. I still have the same computer and I had the levels on my hard drive until I decided to reset.

I also was on the forums back then. My username was INeedHelp and some of you may remember me as a whiny kid that I was back then. I was only 12 at that time and made some custom graphics at MS Paint. It was real hard work to rip them of the spritesheets and resize with the MS Paint that always messed the resizing. I didn't even give the credit for the original creators of the spritesheets. I was a stupid kid. But now that I'm 16 I'd like to hear if any of you remember me and if so, what did you think about me back then?

Maybe I start playing SMBX again for real; maybe I make some levels again, I don't know yet. I knew back then that 1.3 was going to be the last version and that was really sad. I'm a bit disappointed now that 4 years has passed and almost no progress has been made. I kinda wanted to see some new content other than episodes/levels/graphics.

Well it's not like NO progress has been made. Sure Redigit discontinued it, but there are new alternatives to SMBX 1.3 now that you can choose from.

Welcome to the SMBX forums. Have a nice stay and hope you will enjoy SMBX as much as you did back then.

Welcome to the forums, 34C. I think I might remember "I Need Help!" from a while ago.

We've released a slightly new version of SMBX, and you can download that from the "SMBX 1.3.0.1" global announcement.

Welcome back then 34C, I'm sure you noticed, but the forums should look familiar too. Have a nice time here and read some of the tuts and other sticky topics here and there. They're a good resource, just in case you've gotten a little rusty :p

I think I sort of remember your username or something. Yes, don't feel bad, a lot of us were whiny kids back then. I don't blame you at all. Welcome back! Have a good stay here.

Alternatives? What do you mean?

I'm pretty sure I spelled my name exactly this way: INeedHelp

I noticed the new version, and I'm glad to see that the launcher is back to normal (no more that nintendo ad there)

I noticed that the forums look almost exactly like back then. At first I thought it was same site although I remember the site being taken down when redigit quit.

I already looked up some tutorials on the event system (didn't remember how to use it anymore) and familiarized myself with the new LunaDLL extension.
