Shovel Knight

Postby Darkonius Mavakar » Thu Jul 10, 2014 9:57 am

You saw this post coming!
i can't buy the 3ds(memory's full because merio and zelda) or steam (my parents are not gonna buy a steamcard, oddly) version, so i'm the unlucky one wich won't have this game, lol, but who knows, birthday's near and i can always hope!

This game is universally loved by everyone, it's like, one of those few retro games that actually did what a retro game should do imo.

if you have the game, deescusssss

The game looks so awesome. I've been waiting forever to get this game. Sadly purchasing stuff online is really hard for me (or anybody in south america).

(Somebody wants to gift it to me c:? I'll give you a kiss if you do.)

While I never invested in the kickstarter myself, I'm so glad for all of the hype it's getting and I'm very glad that it turned out successful. It's nice to see something like this go big.

While it has a retro aesthetic, it does actually come across as a modern game that EVOLVED from the retro era. NES games, while a lot of them are fantastic, tend to have a glitchy I-barely-work appearance to them, with very limited palettes to work with, Shovel Knight goes beyond those limitations and really appears to have a best-of-both-worlds vibe to it.

I'll likely get it for Wii U.

I've played through the first 10 or so percent. It's fantastic, like an updated SMB3 (which is my favourite of all). Controls are really tight too, especially with the dualshock4

ok shovel knight plays nothing like smb3 outside of some aesthetic similarities in the world map

I would say it's more similar to Zelda 2 than SMB3.

Yeah, he can down-sword in this game. How many games can you think of characters doing that.
