I'm tired of seeing cussing

Postby lighthouse64 » Wed Jul 02, 2014 7:13 am

Ok I just wanted to say this publicly. I'm really tired of just seeing all these cuss words. I know I'm not very used to it, but I think they're being :

1 over used
2 misused (like when people use them 4 no reason)
3 Used when there's a better word (I know I'm making no sense :P)

Cussings, you also ment "bad words", right?

Bad Words are kind of normal especially if we are on a Teenager Ages but other times, a few of our peoples does not really like it (like me at like 2 Years ago but now I am getting used to). You can simply ignore those words no matter how overreacted it looks. I do not use them because they are useless on my sight. @FutureNyanCat2014 does not like that either.

There are a few users who do use cuss words very often, on the IRC chat and on the forums. But I don't mind, really. You should try to tolerate those cuss words, too. Trying to tell the people to stop cussing will just be useless and make you look bad.

I know I can't tell people to stop, but I was just saying how I felt.

Also 4 what I've seen there are a lot of people who do cuss. Maybe a lot 4 you is diffrent.

I think I'm not used to cussing because I came from the: Lego Message Boards (https://community.lego.com/t5/LEGO-Mess ... sageBoards) back there the rules were really strict and you also had to wait until your post was moded before it showed up. (It got kinda annoying.)

If we should decide to censor cussing words and other words, it should be optional for every user and not be forced on everyone. Most of us don't mind cussing words, anyways.

The amount of posts containing cussing words is very low, even in the Sandbox and especially in the other sub-forums. But that's just my opinion.

Ah yeah, LEGO Message Boards. Pretty much a forum for children and teens, especially younger ones. Forums like those need stricter rules, of course, since many children, especially the younger ones, tend to spam and stay off-topic (not all, but many). But here in the SMBX forums, the majority of the members are 13 and older (and even those that aren't 13 yet behave well for their age).

Yeah I'm under 13 but above 9. Also I'm sorry for posting that I'm not used to cussing. (because I am.) I meant to say that I was tired of it.

You behave well for your age!

Oh, okay. Actually, I'm not a friend of cussing, either, and I'm well aware that cussing is kinda overused, especially on our IRC chat, would you really want to do against those people who cuss too much, and if yes, what would you want to do? It's their life and their way they want to behave and look towards others. Just like you have the right to have your own opinion about those people.
Besides, cussing can be pretty useful now and then. For example when there's someone who just won't listen to the things you say. Or when someone really annoys you. Or when you wanna underline important things.

sorry to burst your bubble, but the SMBX community has never had censors. Pretty much everyone here cusses, and I don't see it changing anytime soon.

Well, not everyone. I am not using them on the forums anyway so that answers it.

We're not adding word censors and will only crack down on cussing if it's done unnecessarily, which, as far as I can tell, it isn't.
