This needs to stop.

I'm speaking to you. All of you. All of you high-up people who feel that it's right to enforce stricter and stricter by the day rules (or, as I like to call them, "laws") on the forum as a whole just because the same old turds did something that offended the same old other turd. IT'S NOT FAIR TO EVERYONE ELSE. Saying that you will enforce "stricter" rules and policies on this forum is the equivalent of being that school teacher who decided to punish an entire class just because one kid did something she/he didn't like, and that said kid who caused said teacher to snap on her/his class has been a jerk for quite a while. A long metaphor yes, but a true metaphor nonetheless. This is why we have the reputation system, because that way all you moderators and admins don't HAVE to make the ridiculous decisions who not only affect the small (very small) party involved, but everyone else too. Again, it's not fair to everyone else. Now, I doubt any of you could really answer this, but when you, moderators and admins, make these kinds of decisions to be stricter on the forums, do you think about anyone else besides you, the sole "victims" of a singular incident and the "malefactors" of the same singular incident, and how they are affected on this forum? Don't you understand that other forum users besides anyone even slightly higher in rank than the "registered users" group are ALSO affected by incidents that solely involve those who are higher in rank than simple registered users? A mouthful, yes, a completely random outcry from a completely random user, yes, but I really feel that this is a serious problem and that more people are affected than what you, the moderators and admins of this forum THINK are affected.
Thank you for your time.

Looks guys, this is what he means:
This forum is just like a class consequence. One user does something wrong and the entire forum gets stricter rules.

I fail to see the point of this post though. Everyone knows if the staff doesn't enforce stricter rules this place with turn into a bigger shithole. Especially the double posting rule. That's been broken on multiple occasions by me and knux. I'd say rules deserve to be more strict.

Umm, you act as if the other people who don't get involved in the drama are also the same as the "troublemakers". Why should it matter to the ones who don't get into arguments/drama and stuff if the forum becomes stricter when it won't affect them whatsoever?
And the mods are obviously thinking about the users if they decide to make a rule that avoids needless drama and rule breaking which will make the forum peaceful so idk why you think that they're not thinking about anyone else

Maybe you're not fit to be in this community if you can't keep up with the forum rules.

Based on what you guys are saying, I'm assuming you didn't quite understand how I worded my post, and I can't blame you. Most of the time, when I try to write a simple sentence, it comes out as something that someone who's first language isn't English would say (I think Gibberish might be my REAL first language, but I don't know), and that results in communication errors. Let me (attempt) to rephrase what I tried to say:
I tried to say that the "drama" here on the forum is usually caused by the same users...most of time time. Sometimes there are exceptions, but they are rare. When the "drama" ends, sometimes a "we are going to enforce stricter rules because of [vague incident]" post is made, implying that the entire forum will have stricter rules. That would imply that not only those who were involved in the vague incident would be affected, but those who were uninvolved as well. I find this a problem because, well, those who were uninvolved didn't do anything wrong, but are being affected by it anyway, and I, in my opinion, don't think that makes sense. If this helped, then...well...that would be a thing.

Who said I couldn't/didn't keep up with the forum rules? Not me. Its more that I think some of these rules are enforced on the wrong people.
Besides the whole "speaking gibberish" thing, I also wouldn't blame any of you if you think I'm just trying to be a control freak or something. This whole thread may just be a stupid whiny rant over a useless argument, I don't really know. In fact, I'm a little embarrassed that I created this topic in the first place. However, that doesn't change hat I think about the strictness of these rules. Do what you wish with it at this point.

I stopped there. Because this is all that matters. Glad you agree too. This is a useless argument, and I really don't see how it helps anything. You rephrased it and I understood what you said a little better, but I still fail to see a reasonable point in any of it. The rules are enforced on everyone, and will always be that way. If it wasnt that would be like having a jail full of people, except just because you don't contribute in the fights, you get better treatment. No, yo're in jail, you get the same treatment, and the worse ones get worse treatment. (i.e. warning or ban)

he's complaining about having unnecessarily strict rules on a mario forum
and don't give me "it's not a mario forum" shit because the entire purpose is a mario fangame
y'know
something that kids would play
kids don't like really strict rules

And this is exactly the reason we need rules more than anything. Kids are chaotic. If we don't control kids behavior. It will be Redigit's forum before Kyasarin all over again, (not saying after Kyasarin forum was any worse/better).

by having such strict rules you're turning away the vast majority of mario players
you should expect a lot of children to go wild on a mario forum
if you can't deal with that
then you should probably leave
(not directing that specifically at you garro)

Blueoak is right. The majority of the people here aren't children. Everyone I've seen here is at least 16+ except maybe 3 or 4. The rest are twelve year olds, but even still, age should be nothing more than a number. We might be a mario forum, but we are still a solid community, and with our jokes and immaturity we also have the mature side to back us up. Not all of the "kids" here go wild.
But imo, rules are rules. Follow them, and nothing bad will happen.

Even if it's directly at me, it doesn't offend me that you have a different opinion.
I agree at some point. but that depends on the focus of the forum. Yeah, it's a Mario forum, but it's the forum's owner to decide to what kind of audience the forum is aiming to. In this case, I'll assume the aim is to SMBX level editor. Since on most cases, kids aren't good at designing levels/episode. the audience is young teens and older.
STill, like SonGohan said, is not about age, is about maturity. What matters is that the rules ensure proper socializing and comfort to the members.
Still I dunno what "drama" happened and how rules are "stricter" (I guess more rules and harder punishments (?) ). But rules are supposed to be constants. If the rules have to be changed every time somebody breaks them then the rules weren't created properly.
