How do you allow yourself to edit files in Local Disk (C:)?

I want to make a custom graphic, so I follow every step people tell me. But unfortunately, everytime I do it, it won't let me edit any images and ask if I want to do it in My Pictures instead. SMBX is saved in Local Disk (C:) and it won't let me edit. I tried moving it to Desktop, but SMBX doesn't start up correctly when I do. Can you please post a video of a tutorial or just post a step-by-step tutorial? Don't tell me to search it on Google, their results never helped. Note: There's only one account on my whole computer, so I'm obviously an administrator. Still locked out though

Strange. It isn't even need to be an administrator to change the disk C. May you put SMBX in the programmes folder?

@Christian07

afaik you do need admin rights to edit root

so either:
get admin rights
or install smbx to a different place
also: i think this is the wrong section, but that's just me

Anything thats not already justified. Or, tl;dr offtopicness.

I had trouble with editing files (even editing levels) as well when I installed SMBX to C: as it was suggested by the installation program. It's better to install the game to the Program Files, there you will have less trouble.

There is a way to give yourself the rights to edit files outside of the Program Files folder (aka, in C:). You're thinking there's only one user account on your computer, but that's not true! On Windows Vista, 7 and 8, there is a hidden Guest account and a hidden user account called "Administrator" which gives you even more rights than your user account already does; here is a tutorial on how to enable this account. Using the "Administrator" account, I was able to give myself full access to all files on C: in the Security tab in the Properties.
BUT, do this at your own risk, since giving yourself full rights to edit all files on C: might allow other programs, wanted or unwanted, to change your files, too!
