We do not need this as it is just very inactive at the end just as much as the other forums did. Not necessary.

Not happening. This is an English-only forum.

Why is it an English only forum? It's the main SMBX forum, no need to exclude anybody.

They can use translators, besides, who wants to hear a someone speak a foreign language? It's annoying because you wouldn't even understand them, and you would have to first find out what language they speak and then translate it.

He's not excluding anyone. There are translators that can help foreign members type in English though it is preferable that they learn English themselves before posting in a forum.

I'm talking about dedicated non-English SUBFORUMS.

"Annoying" what why annoying because you can't understand it? Let's look at real life back. If 2 talk in their motherlanguage and you don't understand it is it also annoying? Some people do speak in their language because they sometimes don't want others to understand it.

Well yeah, the internet translators are the laziest choice, but they don't do very well tbh. And this makes it more complicated because what comes out of the translator is some kind of english-gibberish.

You do realize that that was offensive, right? Just like how it was offensive saying you didn't want to "see someone's metal leg". Think before you post. If you say something offensive, you're going to keep getting downrepped.

In the past the language subforums usually died out.
Besides, most users who didn't speak English used translators and eventually learned the language (such as bossy <3) and turned out pretty fine.
I know it may be wrong to say this as it might exclude some, but it is better if there were just no language subforums at all.

That reminds me: I'm still kinda miffed that illias3000, who was a pretty nice user, is PERMABANNED for having bad English.

And I'm sure that if there are people who really struggle to express themselves in English, and there are other people who happen to speak their native language, they would be more than happy to help these people out. We're all one community after all <3

That's not offensive at all.
I think there should be subforums for Italian, German, Polish, and Spanish.
You could also make a misc. forum for every language.
I think excluding users who can't speak english well is unfair, tbh.
regards,
native Irish speaker (english is not my first language)

You should try it for a week or two. If it makes the forum a better place, keep it. Otherwise, remove it.

I start getting flashbacks of how empty those subforums were in the past. =P
Ok, so I'm going to bring a certain quote being said many times by numerous users, "this is no social website". And yeah, I don't care if the quote is actually accurate or not. The point is that there's no need for a feature which shall die in about 1 month or sooner. This, along with the Level Judges usergroup issue has been present for a long time. Although, despite the Level Judges usergroup issue can be fixed by hiring new members, this one depends on the userbase, and really, it doesn't turn out very well.
For what I've seen so far, there are many, MANY other SMBX Forums on various languages such as Spanish, Portuguese and French (although I don't know if those are still active or even still open). Adding specific languages subforums isn't necessary at all, since if you want to talk on your mother language you can easily go to any of those forums, and if there's not a forum for your mother language, then I'm afraid there's nothing to do.
Also, it's not unfair to anybody. This is an English-only forum, it's that simple. If you want to stay here, you have to play by the rules, one of them, speak English.

"this is no social website"
This makes no sense though. A forum is a social website in every way.
