A question about staff consequences

Yeah, this post made me really curious about such; can you get a consequence like a board warning or ban if your reputation gets too low?

I don't think so, I'd only give warnings for breaking rules not bad PR.

You will. A message should be at the top of the page, warning you of this every time you up/downrep someone.

Reps are supposed to be user-generated only I think (I mean sure staff can use them but they would be repping in their capacity as a user on the forums, not a staff member). Being down-repped means you're an unpopular user/an asshole/annoying, not that you've actually broken any forum rules. That's my understanding.

Reputation may influence the staff's decisions about warning/banning users, but we don't have anything like "if users get below -20 rep then let's ban them".

(unless you get to -100, then you're autobanned by the MOD)

banning someone because they have a high negative rep (ie. -10) would be a bit silly, don't you think?

I think it's unfair how a member can be downrepped so many times for a single post. :/

I don't think banning someone bc of downreps is a good idea at all, people who don't like each other would probably start rep wars to get rid of each other (although it doesn't happen now,, and hopefully won't start happening now) that's just what I think :/ (sorry I'm just really bad at reasoning, I wish I could post something witty like GhostHawk or Knux, but I'm really just saying this because I don't know how to express my thoughts I should really delete this now)

I agree with both of the above posts. There should be a limit for how many times a post can be downrepped (or uprepped for that matter) if that's possible to implement. Having people banned for low reputation seems like a bad idea too, again it seems more like a social user-generated number than a bannable offense to me.
