Eh okay idk the point of this was for this i actually only then wanted to know if anyone wants this still or not but yeah the majority voted no so...uh.

For the record, rather than joining the angry mob, I actually went into #talkhaus and politely asked why Valtteri was banned.

Valtteri got mad that someone "talked shit about him behind his back" (they said he "seemed like a dumb butt", not exactly a severe comment (Furthermore that's so hypocritical it's unimaginable given how much he talked behind Talkhaus's back)), and an operator banned him because he came in trying to start shit. The operator at no point implied the ban was to be permanent, it was just meant to stop him from starting a massive flame war.

So no, Valtteri was not banned for "no reason".

Me making a couple of jokes about their contest on IRC doesn't justify the constant hate our contest gets from them, the spam submissions I get from them ridiculing every rule I created, or the blatant insults they even said about our board theme. And honestly it seemed like they kickbanned me so they could continue bashing me behind my back which is actually really obnoxious. I was asking if they were talking shit about me and got kickbanned. Yeah, that'll definitely prevent a shitstorm. And the fact that they decided to ban everyone who tried to join after me can't be excused, that's flat out discrimination.

I'll look into this a little bit.

Yeah, good post to end the argument. We shouldn't let minor misunderstandings such as these to occur and deteriorate the relationship between the two communities.

"Couple" of "Jokes". Do you want me to get the logs? It was incessant bitching, accusations that the contest was biased, claims that the contest was horrendously run, etc. etc. For about a week. That's not a "couple of jokes".

You didn't come in and politely ask, you came in with a passive aggressive tone that made it evident you were looking to start shit.

They interpreted the people joining in sequence to complain about a ban (and potentially go ahead and start more drama themselves) as a raid and handled it as such. If you banned someone from #smbx and then a bunch of their friends started joining to complain in the channel, would you not interpret that as a raid based on a decision you as the operator made by your own judgement?

I think a passive aggressive tone is suitable in a situation where you're being bashed behind your back.

Of course I would, but I would never ban anyone because I want to keep talking behind their back.

I missed most of the drama, but does this means the Talkhaus are the bad guys who invade the tower of biased 7?

I admit I bashed their contest behind their backs but at least I didn't ban them when they found out. And oh, they made the ban permanent when I addressed the issue? That's perfect.

I didn't say it's mass spam. It's just the complete lack of respect they radiate. At least I submitted a real honest level to their contest and did everything right, I only started showing disrespect as they started posting results.

I fail to see the difference. My complaints would ultimately have been directed to the public anyway, judging from how incompetent and disinterested the operators proved to be.

??? But that's exactly what she banned me for? And no, I refuse to believe the reason was to prevent me from "starting shit" as that's the most retarded thing I've heard in my life. Banning me in that situation was bound to start shit anyway. And it did. Why keep me banned anymore anyway. No, it was clearly so they could resume bashing me without me having the possibility to respond.

It had relevance because he was browsing our forums in order to look at the contest topic. Furthermore, you're blaming the entirety of the Talkhaus for the comments of one user.

The difference is in attempt. You didn't even TRY to handle the matter privately and maturely. You just assumed that the operators were incompetent and then made a mess.

I'm genuinely beginning to believe you suffer from paranoia with this comment. You actually think that everyone was sitting in that channel bashing on you, and then banned you when you joined so they could go back to it? Are you literally insane? They were watching a god damn movie. They saw someone come in and immediately try to start a fight. They banned them figuring that if they joined the channel specifically to start shit that they weren't going to contribute anything. That is what happened. None of your paranoid delusions are going to change that fact.

I thought it was you because of the thing the spammer posted. It was some pony fanfic you wrote once but with #Talkhaus names instead of ponies. I know that sounds pretty stupid, so I'm sorry for this.

My way of addressing the issue wasn't nearly as inappropriate as you make it out to be. No, I'm not literally insane. All right, they were watching a movie. Judging from the logs I saw they definitely talked behind my back, even if not all the time, which I by the way didn't imply. I don't know what was said after I was banned but insults towards me were added to the channel topic which I know for a fact and which is actually stupid of an operator. And banning everyone was not a good way of dealing with the situation.

This does not need to be discussed any further.
