I have a wii u myself but I want to know why don't some people not have a wii u. Why?
-Is it because of money?
This is the newest generation of gaming and the wii u is the lowest of price, so get with it or stay behind with your GameCube.
-Is it because you don't think the wii u is powerful enough?
If you are a CoD fanboy who only plays high def shooters, then get out of the internet and this forum. The wii u may not be as powerful as the PS4 or Xbone, but it has some top-notch games that can't be found on any other system.
-Is it because you dont feel like upgrading?
Oh come on, it's time to put away your wii and buy a wii u. This is a dumb reason as even though new consoles get more expensive as they progress, and having lots of systems you won't be playing all at once doesn't mean you have to not get a wii u, or any current gen system for that matter.
What are your thoughts? I'd really want to know.

I am a Wii U owner myself.
Game library is really the answer though, the Wii U has a pretty small pool of good games compared to the other consoles and VERY few system sellers (Mario Kart 8, 3D World, and arguably Pikmin 3 are pretty much it). A lot of people just don't think it's worth it to upgrade.
Also, I still own and regularly use my Wii myself, for two purposes: GameCube support (something that was sorely missed among many Nintendo fans until the GC adapter for Sm4sh was announced) and homebrew, mostly the Brawl mod Project M as well as some New Super Mario Bros. Wii mods and such. The Wii U doesn't support any of this (obviously acceptable for homebrew) so that's another big reason why.

So far, the only game I've seen for the Wii U that I want is the new Super Smash Bros. I don't really pay as much attention to what Nintendo does as I used to. I'm willing to bet there's a lot more cool games, though.

I don't own a Wii U because I don't have the money. I don't care if it has a low price, it's still in the hundred-dollar range, and I don't have that kind of money. I would love to get a Wii U, but I can't see it happening for the next 2-3 years. Hell, I got my Wii in 2011, I think a few people thought that was kind of late.

Whatever Ignoritus, if you can't take it because you are what I said, then I'd suggest doing what I said.
I made this to see why people don't have wii u's and keep saying how amazing these new games are and yet aren't even gonna get them anytime soon.

I don't have one yet, as they're a bit expensive. However, considering it has SSB4, NSMBU and SM3DW (as well as Super Toad 67, or whatever it's called), I imagine I will eventually.

Luckily I have Wii U already so... it's pretty nice. The owner of this Wii U that I have is myself so, we have a good time of usage but for some reason Online/Internet does not want to work on my Wii U. Gonna check that out though.

I think people in general who didn't buy a Wii also didn't buy a Wii U for the same reasons; they'd be paying for a feature they didn't want, on a console primarily known for first party games that they weren't interested in.
The rest who bought Wii were the core Nintendo fans and the (incredibly large) extended market of people who wanted to just have casual accessible fun with the motion controls. The gamepad just doesn't have a similar "sells itself" kind of appeal for those people. They already have phones/tablets. Something similar happened with 3DS and its attempt to market its 3D technology as a gimmick. Most people weren't impressed, but the 3DS still thrived because handheld gamers and developers (also in general) aren't super pedantic about the "power" of the console, and are primarily more concerned with gameplay content. Even those who opted to save money because they didn't want a 3D feature were given the 2DS alternative.
So, what happened is the Wii U earned sales from a large number of Nintendo's core fans (of those that had the money), as well as people who were fooled into expecting a lot of third party support between first party games, and pretty much almost no one else.
I say all of this as someone who purchased the Wii U and fully enjoys it, but I'm also not the kind of person who needs a new game every month to be satisfied.

Nintendo, unlike its competitors, has to support their consoles with a ton of first party games. People just prefer to get other consoles because they have a broader library of games. This doesn't mean Wii U is being outsold by the competition though; it may actually outsell the XB1.

Okay, so, first off, not a lot of people have a spare $300.00 laying around to purchase a Wii U. At the moment, I can get a 250GB HDD XBox 360 for a little less, and I'd much prefer that to a Wii U to be completely honest, because there are more games I'd rather play on that than I would the Wii U right now. Also, this isn't the newest generation of gaming, that title goes to the PlayStation 4 and XBox One, I mean, have you seen how well they perform?
Also, I dislike how you are somewhat demanding in your "get with it or stay behind with your GameCube". I'm not sure how many people can relate, but I don't own a GameCube to stay behind with. In fact, the newest system I own from Nintendo would have to be the Wii, and the newest game would have to be Skyward Sword. This is how behind I am with games from Nintendo, and I'm completely fine with it, I don't need to upgrade.
-Is it because you don't think the wii u is powerful enough?
If you are a CoD fanboy who only plays high def shooters, then get out of the internet and this forum. The wii u may not be as powerful as the PS4 or Xbone, but it has some top-notch games that can't be found on any other system.
Actually, I don't think Nintendo is pushing the Wii U to it's max, though I'm not sure if this is true or not. Also, I don't see how saying how the Wii U isn't powerful enough and being a Call of Duty fan relates to each other. I don't see where you're coming from. "CoD fanboy who only plays high def shooters". You don't have to be a Call of Duty fan to enjoy FPS games.
The Wii U definitely isn't as powerful as the PlayStation 4 or XBox One, and that's a massive downfall as they are lagging behind in terms of hardware advancement. While the Wii U may have some great games, they are Nintendo-console exclusive, and that's always been one of Nintendo's problems. If we take a recent game, like Grand Theft Auto V, it was released to the PlayStation 3 and the XBox 360, and a port to the next-gen consoles and PC platform have been announced, which is great because it's all cross-platform! Nintendo restricts you to buying their consoles to play their games. To me that's a problem.

I still enjoy the games I play on my Wii, and I don't have the money to purchase a Wii U. My Wii works perfectly fine, I still play the games I own on it somewhat, I have absolutely no problems with it, so I see no reason as to why I should upgrade to a Wii U. My only reason to purchase a next-gen console would be to play a game or games I would want to play. If Grand Theft Auto V was exclusive to consoles, I would get a console for that reason. One of the games that I do wish to play if I ever purchase a console would have to be Red Dead Redemption.
To me, it seems like you're telling people to get consoles even if they aren't going to play them. Not everyone has the money to own all 3 past-gen consoles, and then get up to times with all 3 next-gen consoles. If we combined the price of the Wii, XBox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, XBox One, and Wii U all together, we're talking almost over a thousand USD, and that's way too much to be spending on JUST game consoles. Not everybody is rich, some of them can't even afford to keep a roof over their heads, sort of like me circa now.
The reason why I can't purchase a Wii U, the reason why I have never owned an XBox 360 or PlayStation 3, and the reason why I will never have a next-gen console, is simply because I don't have the money.

I don't own a WiiU because of a few reasons. First off, I'm broke and I cannot afford it. Second, the range of games (that are at least decent) is pretty limited in my opinion. The newer games coming out look pretty good though, and I might pick up a WiiU with some of them. (Bayonetta, Zelda WiiU, SM3DW, Mario Builder, Smash Bros). I think that the small range off good games for the Wii scared users away from the WiiU, because they might have thought that the WiiU would share the same fate. Plus, Nintendo doesn't really acknowledge third-party developers as much as Sony and Microsoft, so the range of games is limited that way.
Anyway, I would like one, but I don't have the money, and the game selection right now is small.
If you are a CoD fanboy who only plays high def shooters, then get out of the internet and this forum.
This is quite a hurtful statement. I enjoy shooters quite a lot, (Not CoD, but others). Telling others to leave is pretty rude, just because they like a game or genre.

I bought the Wii U the day after its release, and I've been keeping up with all of the Mario games on it. Frankly, though, I have to agree with Ragont, it's really not nice to make up things, exaggerate, and be rude towards people who enjoy shooters. This, if anything, will discourage someone to get a Wii U.

People are more wary about buying a Wii U as opposed to any other console, and the limited game library is definitely one of the primary concerns. I've also seen posts around the Internet expressing concern about the Wii U's sales getting low enough that they have to discontinue it, which is another reason some people aren't buying it. If people get one and it's dropped, it'll be a waste. Those are legitimate concerns, but if the Wii U does die, it'll be because a large enough amount of people refused to buy one because of that mentality.
These things have basically made the Wii U out to be inherently something that people are desperate to avoid, which saddens me because it's a competent enough console on its own. It may not have identical graphics to its competitors, but that's never been the case for Nintendo and it doesn't invalidate the quality of their consoles. Lack of sales and game library are literally the only things separating the Wii U from other Nintendo consoles when it comes to whether or not they're worth buying. The Wii and 3DS had a limited selection at the start as well, so I have hope that the Wii U's situation will improve. Mario Kart 8's out, Smash is coming, and a bunch of other awesome ones have been announced.
Of course, if you simply don't have the money or whatever the case may be, fair enough. I'd just rather not see a perfectly good console die because enough people wanted one, could afford it, but didn't have enough faith in its survival so they refused.

Yeah as ragont eloquently state, blue greed's logic is very flawed
The only reason I will ever get a Nintendo system is for Mario Kart and Smash Bros. Sure, those Mario games look fun enough, but they're not exciting enough to go out and buy a whole new game console.
Nintendo seriously needs to start releasing their first party games as ports for the ps4 and xbone, hell maybe even steam. It just feels like Nintendo's so far behind in the latest gaming trends it'll hardly seem relevant anymore
Either they launch a groundbreaking new console that has the same technological specs as other new-gen consoles, or loosen their vicegrip on their first party franchises
