I'm not saying i expect to or want to see him at all. I'm just making it clear that the king in the CDi games isn't the only one.
It's pretty early to tell if there will only be child timeline characters, but at the moment it's beginning to look that way, especially with Agitha now playable. Still, I wouldn't be surprised to see a few adult timeline characters, since this game is a "celebration of Zelda", as Enouma puts it.

The game doesn't really interest me. Dynasty Warriors games are quite boring and repetitive. I can't see this game providing me more than eight hours of gameplay before I get bored and never play it again.

Come to think of him, I wonder if Dark/Shadow Link will have a role to play in this game? Hopefully, he wouldn't just be a costume for Link. Also, Zelda.

By the way guys, I heard your speech about the characters from The Wind Waker ( Four Swords, Four Swords Adventures, The Minish Cap, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks) being impossible to fit in Hyrule Warriors because of their style or being in different eras or timelines other than Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess. It's ridiculous. Have you ever thought they'd have to be HD realistically redesigned to be featured in Hyrule Warriors as playable, bad or supporting characters? It's possible for any characters from any Zelda games to be included, especially Ghirahim, the Skull Kid and/or Yuga.

Dark Link, Shadow Link or Ravio is probable.

Agreed. Still, as early as it is, there will definitely be more than six playable characters and more villains. There should be Kokiris, Gorons, Sea and River Zoras, if there will be worlds, stages and other stuff from A Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, A Link Between Worlds and Ocarina of Time.
Currently, we are interested in stuff from past Zelda games, while Hyrule Warriors is creating its own original stuff. Like the characters Lana, Cia or Valga.

What are you guys expecting for exactly? It's not like they'll release a another SSB. I have no idea of what Dynasty Warriors is, but I certainly believe there won't be as much playable characters as you guys think.

Tecmo Koei, the developer of Hyrule Warriors, is doing so by making it a semi-crossover between Zelda and Dynasty Warriors which is one of their own series that original debuted on the PlayStation.
There are 83 playable characters in Dynasty Warriors 8, though I'm not sure how much they vary. There are actually quite a few new characters being introduced, plenty of which are new villains.

I started out thinking similarly, but it's growing on me.
I'm hoping that adding a Zelda flair to the game and its mechanics (like large bosses like the massive dodongo for example) would make the experience more fresh and conducive to variety rather than repetition, but I guess the appeal is that it's a bit more social in its co-op element that I'll probably never use. I've never played a Dynasty Warriors game so the experience will undoubtedly be new for me either way.
Some other things as a general side note:
Link's fairy is apparently named Proxy. I really like that name. I wish I came up with it, in fact.
This really seems like a plot that follows Twilight Princess closely, if not chronologically. Perhaps it's a creative take on what would have happened if the events in Twilight Princess had lead to an all-out war. Agitha, the bug girl, is a playable character. Unless this is some kind of divine reincarnation of her (which isn't entirely unprecedented at least considering Link himself), it's safe to say. Midna and Zant are present as well. Semi-curious about Agitha though. I think she's awesome and I would enjoy playing as her. But how old is she? Is she a kokiri? How long do the kokiri live for? Is she like Saria's daughter or some shit? That would blow my mind. They have an opportunity to really develop these characters, and I hope they do so.
I think it's interesting that every playable character so far EXCEPT Link is female.
Zelda is a queen, not a princess, and her agency in the plot has apparently been improved from other Zelda games.
As far as I can tell, the confirmed playable characters are Link, Zelda, Impa, Midna, Agitha, and... Lana.
... Lana.

Exactly, too many playable female characters. It's fine though, it's a start. It's still early to say that Link will be the only male character. And if Hyrule Warriors does follow Twilight Princess, that means that Link, Zelda and others will be facing a dark tribe right before Four Swords Adventures. However, I doubt the developers worry about timeline placement. Since the spin-off takes most elements from one game, which is Twilight Princess, fans would say directly that it'll be after the game. But I admit, that was pretty interesting.
It has connections with three Zelda games and will more connections to any Zelda games, as long as it has "links to different periods of the timeline". Hmm... Now, I have many thoughts about the game.

The cast could be all female but for Link, and I seriously wouldn't care. Games in general often feature male characters. It's nice for a change.
If all timelines are considered acceptable to take from, though, I WOULD like to see characters like Darunia and the Happy Mask Salesman.

No, actually it's not rare... But it may be just me, because I played a lot of video games with playable strong sexy women.
I'm glad there are females. What if one of the Seven Sages from Ocarina of Time or A Link Between Worlds show up? Most members of the Seven Sages are female... Zelda and Impa are already there, that leaves Oren, Irene, Seres, Ruto, Nabooru and Saria. I seriously want Saria in it, Oren's pretty interesting for a River Zora, and I wonder if Ruto still has feelings for her fiancé. And I'd love if Darunia and the Happy Mask Salesman shows up too Raster.
