I don't know how to create a lua file, but, what if Mario interact with them?

And them, means those guys from the Super Mario Maker duology.
These are Mary O., Yamamura, Mr. Eraser and Partrick.

They replace Sonic, Megan, Knuckles and 'Kirby'.

She’s referring to the sonic NPC in basegame.

Oh, that makes much more sense (I almost thought these were playables)
