The Rip Lair Presents...

The SMBX feature everyone has been wanting for years...

With a collaborative effort with:
Sleepy, Squishy Rex, MegaDood, DisasterMaster, Lumsht, Marioman2007, Master of Disaster, Murphmario, DeltomX3, DeviousQuacks23, MrNameless, and many more...

You heard that right! Over FIFTY powerups, from far & wide, from other mario games/editors or even fully original powerups, have been made/ported over to SMBX! All for the public to freely use!



NOTE: All these powerups use Marioman2007's customPowerups.lua as a base & won't work if you don't have that aswell! (However, this pack DOES come prepackaged with it so worry not!)

To open up the redacted powerup trapped in a bound, you must head to the powerup page where it all began, put your head up into the clouds...

POWERUP PACK INSTALLATION GUIDE: show


Do note that some powerups still need a luna.lua file for special cases, so copy the contents of that to your clipboard, then paste it your own luna.lua file of your level.

LEGACY GUIDE FOR VERSIONS 1.5.0 & OLDER:: show







NOTE WHEN SWAPPING POWERUPS: show

If you so happen to add a powerup to your level while playtesting in the editor, then remove & change it to a different, an error will be thrown saying that the powerup you removed is missing.

In order to fix this issue you'll have to terminate the running process of your game through the method shown in the image below:

Not sure how long it took you guys (the developers of this) to make this, but either way I think you just fixed one of the biggest issues of SMBX2. DEFINTELY gonna be using this. Now when is this going to be inserted into to basegame?

I can't imagine how much time and effort was put into this, amazing job everyone involved in the creation of this pack!
BTW, I wanted to ask through the Discord, but I don't want to bother all of you since this is already a lot of work, but if I found bugs/details that might need to get checked, should I do it here? Again, thank you for your hard effort!!!

I'm very behind on the forums in terms of all the custom coded stuff, but I'm really excited to see a pack like this. Also a nice surprise seeing some of the older custom powerups from other level editors in here, they deserve the comeback.

YES! IT’S FINALLY OUT! WAHOO! 38a has been nuked so hard. This might kill it now

This was one of the coolest and most exciting thing I’ve ever contributed to. Everyone is super chill and fun to talk with, and it just felt like a nice family just vibbing. MASSIVE shoutout to Master of Disaster for causing the butterfly effect that lead me here, and another one for Nameless and Sleepy for maturing me up a bit.

Not sure about the discord server, but bug reports are fine here.
Looks like both The Rip Lair Server and here are A-OK! (See Megadood’s response to the question.)

It looks like you removed the bee powerup from your level. Try terminating the lua tester.

I also want to encourage you guys to make powerups. There are two Nintendo powerups that still haven’t been made. The spring mushroom (wack physics ), and elephant fruit (no sprites). If you want to try making them or another original powerup, go ahead! The possibility are endless with this as the shining example of what is possible.

Out of entire power-up pack, the whip one is real banger. It really help Luigi survive his worst nightmare.

Yeah feel free to post bugs here, or on our server The Rip Lair!
I will be checking things and bringing any bugs to the team's attention anyway

How do we actually cling to vertical surfaces with the acorn power-up? I can never seem to pull it off.

You need to have Emral's wall jump script enabled

Wow, I never thought something like this would ever be released! I'd love to try many of these powerups sometime soon.
