I just finished playing through the epiosde and wanted to post my thoughts:
First off, the premise itself:
I love The Princess Cliche, so an episode being inspired by that is great. However, the levels themselves unfortunately come across as shorter copies of levels from The Princess Cliche. The wood-tiled grass level with the broken bridge, the grassy-waterfall area, the mushroom town, Peach's Castle and Bowser's Castle (which I'll admit are probably given a pass given the plot of the episode, but you still could've done something unique with them), even the worldmap is basically a copy of The Princess Cliche's map. You did make some changes to the levels here and there, and there are some new level themes like the dungeon/airship and the forest, but I guess I was hoping for some more variation and originality.
The GFX:
The whole episode was in the SMAS SMB3 style. While I always like that style, and the custom GFX added to compliment the style were nice (the yoshis and such), part of The Princess Cliche that I really liked was how it mixed all the different styles really well, and that is unfortunately lost here.
Music:
It's the same SMRPG music used in The Princess Cliche, which was a good selection. There's a couple different tracks from SMRPG that you added too, which was nice. Overall, good music selection.
The Level Design:
This might unfortunately be the weakest part of the episode. As I already said, the themes for most of them are the same as levels in The Princess Cliche, but they are a lot shorter and romp-ier here. You kind of establish an idea in the levels, and then end it 20 seconds after it begins. I'm honestly not sure how to describe them any further, that's how little of an impact the levels left on me.
Conclusion:
I wasn't huge on this episode overall, but I could tell you had fun making it, and that's ultimately what matters. However, if you end up making another episode like this, try and spruce up the design a little! Go wild with the themes and really play around with an idea or two in each level till you feel you've explored that idea to it's fullest. Don't be afraid to mix the styles together, unless you want to stick to one, which I can personally understand. As of now though, I give this episode an unfortunate 2/5. I really only see myself playing this again if I want to speedrun through it, and I'd otherwise just go and play The Princess Cliche.
If you have any thoughts for my thoughts, please share them, and I hope you have a great day!
Edit: I just found out that you "remastered" the episode 5 days after you posted this one. I've played through about half of it, and it's the exact same as this version except for the addition of Advance Coins that behave like the Starcoins, which are not very well placed and are as easy to collect as normal coins, and you changed all the music from SMRPG stuff, which was my favorite part of this episode, to base SMBX tracks, which are fine, but the SMRPG music added a bit more personality to the episode.
