After a very long vacation, Mario has finally returned to the Mushroom Kingdom. However, as things on the outside seem normal, something sinister is brewing in the background...



Hello and welcome to this lovely episode I'm working on. This episode is a remake of one I made for myself a long time ago and I want to share it and the story with all of you. This is Mario's Return to the Mushroom Kingdom!

Story

After the events of the Mario and Luigi games, Mario decided to go on a well earned and lengthy vacation. For an entire year he was away from the Mushroom Kingdom and now that his vacation time has ended he returned. But not everything seems as normal. What's up with the weird new factory in the kingdom? What's Bowser currently doing? And why do I feel like someone is constantly watching my every move? All of this and more coming soon...

Big Update: Subcon Update (Version 0.2)

- Added (most) of SMB2 Graphics
- Added previously missing textures (for example Blooper Death Effect)
- Added Mario's Pad
- Fixed a missing event in Peach's Castle, where she yells at Mario before talking to her

Big Update: Infra Update (Version 0.3)

- Added secret difficult Challenge (Secret Exit)
- Added missing textures
- Added some SMB3 textures (for example Desert)

Teeny-Tiny Update: Version 0.3.1

- Adjusted a few enemy placements
- Adjusted some block placements
- Removed a useless audio file
- Removed a useless saw-blade enemy in Level 3-3
- Replaced all ugly SMB1 coins in worlds 1 and 2 with beautiful clean SMB3 coins

Am currently working on the fourth world. Some things I've managed to implement already (only read if you've played the game) :D :

- ALL SMB1 coins are now replaced with SMB3 coins!!
- Added more rooms to Great Infra Pyramid and Scoovy Mansion, giving them a comfortable length.
- Added a bunch of new graphics (for example: SMW forest floor and foliage).

Update has been delayed, because my hyperfocus didn't work over the weekend. Only finished a single level over the last three days.

Big Update: Greywood Update (Version 0.4)

Changelog:
Spoiler: show
- Added World 4 (Greywood Forest)
- Added SMW Forest textures
- Added more textures (for example Big Boos)
- Adjusted a few world map scenery placements
- Replaced some very busy backgrounds with simple single-color ones, to make your eyes NOT bleed
Sorry this update took so long, my attention span has finally calmed down and I was able to sit down and finish this world!

Teeny Tiny Update (Version 0.4.1)

- MADE SURE THAT ALL SMB1 COINS ARE NOW SMB3 COINS, THIS SHOULD BE IT!!
- Fixed a glitch in "Boo! Haunted House" where the ending would be triggered at the start of the level
- Added pillars into the lava section in Peach's castle, to make it visually easier

Hiatus Update (Version 0.4.3)

Hello! I have been on a hiatus for a while. I don't have a content update ready yet, since I haven't really done work on the next worlds...

HOWEVER:
I do have an update. Read the changelog to know what I have changed. Please enjoy, and leave some feedback if you'd like!

Changelog:

- Simplified the overworld, to be 100% less busy
- Added the respawnRooms lua
- Added the pauseMenu lua
- Minor changes to some levels, mainly to make them less difficult. For example the two-tile wide spike walls in "The Great Infra Pyramid" are now ONE tile wide.
- INFINITE LIVES

i am currently playing World 2, and it is a great episode. the gameboy esque style in this episode and the 8 bit music is really good. it makes it very unique and special compared to other episodes made by other folks. Although, there is some few problems and stuff i found throughout the run.

when i started the episode, i started at the forest area and almost every path was open for some reason. i went all the way back to world 1 to start there, so mind if you put your save file in other stuff and make sure its not with a complete save file. Another thing, this epsiode beat my ass couple of times. Peach's castle level was hard so i skipped to the other level. W1 factory was hard but i managed to finish it on the third attempt.

Also, if you dont mind, please put more checkpoints on levels. if you die from some foolish and silly cause, you will revert back to the start point so you would trek all the way to the part where you died. This happened when i accidentaly fell on 2-1 when beating the birdo boss, causing it to make me play it all the way over again.

hope this project gets finished whenever. Thanks! :D

DAMNIT I forgot the save file. Yeah, when picking the episode you should've looked in the bottom left corner for the save file.
About the difficulty, it's intended to be a bit more on the harder side. I'm assuming, that the player has finished Princess Cliche and Invasion 2, and knows what the spin jump button is.
