Hello people, those of you who downloaded boss rush argentina 3 and 4 and played them, what did you think?
So um, since I played boss rush argentina 3 and 4 and posted playthrough videos about them, I think I should say something. The episode themselves are......pretty bland, it's basically just the reskin vanilla 1.3 bosses (Boom Boom, Birdo, Larry, Ludwig, Mother Brain, Wart, Mouser, SMB1 Bowser, SMB3 Bowser) over and over again, and it gets boring and repetitive real quick. I get it that you're probably just messing around with SMBX and doing whatever you want, and it's understandable, my own first episode is also pretty messed up. And I'm gonna give some advices that can make your episodes more likeable by others.
1. Credit the graphics you used
I know it's not easy considering the amount of graphics you used, but you still should give out the creators of the graphics or at least the episodes you took the graphics from, or people will say you're stealing assets (I've seen that kind of comments before). Put the credits in your topic or a .txt file in your episode, that should do the thing.
2. Make your boss fights more creative
By that I mean reinforcing your boss fights with more layers and events, other than just reskinning the bosses. I know creativity takes time and it's hard to pull off in 1.3, but it's not impossible. For example you put bosses on moving layers that look like airships/tanks, and make them chase you or something. It's not easy, but I'd like to see you try. Also, even though you still want keep doing what you were doing with the boss fights before, at least make the bosses equally hard, like, for example, I just defeated a Ludwig reskin boss by stomping on it for 3 times, then I have to defeated an SMB3 Bowser reskin boss by throw some projectiles which spawns about every 10 seconds for 20 times, it's just boring, and the time it takes is just so inequal. Maybe you can make the projectiles spawn faster.
3. Playtest your episodes more
A few bosses in your episodes are just impossible the beat without getting hurt at least once, and I don't really think it's intentional, and the Birdo Poison boss in boss rush argentina 3 is almost unbeatable since the poison mushrooms the boss makes just block off the place where the projectiles you use to defeat the boss are supposed to spawn, I had to damage boost to get rid of the poison mushroom so that the projectiles can spawn again, and I don't think that's the intentional way to beat the boss.
4. Add more dialogues
I'm not gonna comment about boss rush argentina 3 because its dialogues are not in English and I can't read them, I'm just gonna comment about fourth one. It seems that everyone that speaks just says some random words like "winner", "champion", it's really confusing. Maybe you should make them say more things so that it can be less confusing (the way Sonic.EXE just standing there and saying "winner" to me after I beat "Robotini team" is just hilarious).
So, yeah, that's what I was gonna say. It's still ultimately up to you to whether to take my word or not, but I hope it helps.
