Today's Events

So, I've been out all day today, and it'll be the same tomorrow and Thursday. Sorry about that.

What I came across when I got home is a bunch of argument topics criticizing Quill's abilities as an administrator, my willingness to respond to complaints, and other things. I'm going to be frank.

It's difficult to respond to these topics when the people posting them are Knux and 8bitmushroom.

Regarding my willingness to respond to complaints - I read every PM I receive on this board. Some of them I choose not to respond to, like when Knux PMs me bi-weekly about how bad he thinks Quill is as an administrator. Just because I don't respond to a PM doesn't mean I haven't read it, and just because I respond to a PM doesn't mean I'm going to automatically implement your suggestion or demote a staff member or do something that would obviously require more thought and approval from others. Just because I don't "heed your warnings" or do everything you tell me to do does not make me an administrator that doesn't listen to his userbase.

Have I read a lot of the comments recently? Of course. Do I have any plans to demote Quill? Not at the moment, no, because I haven't been presented with enough substantial evidence to be able to make that decision. Knux and 8bit are the two users that seem to be advocating Quill's demotion the most - these are also two users that consistently start arguments and have difficulty handling situations in a mature manner. However, some of the points they bring up are at least partially legitimate.

So, I'm not sure what to believe just yet. I'm trying to keep an open mind here. Both Knux and 8bit are banned for the time being (partly because I don't want them to respond to this), so let me know what you think.

You can see if someone has read your PM by seeing if a PM is in your Outbox. If it's in Sent Messages it has been read.

Just because the message is in the Sent Messages part doesn't mean that the user actually read the PM, PM's get sent there when the user opens the PM, they can easily pretend and say they read the PM if they so desired and no, I'm not saying Joey does that.

I'd like to know why Knux is treated like shit | If that's allowed as a question.

May I ask how long Knux's and 8bit's bans are for? If the main reason for banning them is to keep them out of this topic/stop them from making new complaint topics it seems like it shouldn't be too harsh to me. But that's just me.

Anyways, I suppose I understand your position here and there was definitely a kind of witch hunt mentality against Quill this morning. I apologize if I got caught up in all that.

Yeah, I would like to know the same thing.
And honestly, this forum is going into hell.
I'm not even going to bring up the points, we all know them...
Oh wait, will posting something like this get me banned? Because some of the staff is having bad temper lately, And that seems to be answer to everything here.

8bit has been warned repeatedly by the staff and he continues to disobey. He made several threads today that needed to be locked, and enough became enough. I'm not too sure about Knux so I won't comment on that to avoid confusion. Everyone just needs to handle situations better when it comes to punishment, instead of going overboard on the forum calling for the demotion of staff and making threads dedicated to their bans.

And no, as long as you don't break/continue to break the rules you won't be banned.

I know what 8Bit has done and why he is banned.
Knux is getting hated all around.
Staff just lock treads from people complaining about the staff.
This forum is a punching bag.
We've had two members quit today alone.
I was being sarcastic because use I was trying to get a point though .

Yes Knux is treated unfairly at a pretty common rate, however that doesn't excuse his actions that lead to his threads being locked. As far a I've seen they're locked for either being pointless or disputing a ban/complaining without legitimate points. Sure that can be argued as to whether his points are legitimate, but the fact that he constantly makes topics with the nature of complaints about staff decisions does warrant a warning/ban when it gets out of control. The members who quit had pretty poor reason assuming I know which ones you're talking about, so I don't see why that matters much.

I, personally, am enjoying this cavalcade of feels.

8bit made his bed and he's sleeping in it now. I'd go into detail, but I promised someone I would only share my bit on this if I wake up tomorrow and you guys are STILL feeling all over the place

whatshisname...umm...he got banned out of chat and now he's quitting forums 8ever. Normal behavior, regardless of whether or not he'll actually come crawling back. (I don't know much about him im sorry)

This is normal, and this does not mean the forum's a punching bag. Taking out the trash does not mean the end of the world. Quit overreacting.
(HEY KNUX. HEY. HEY. HEY KNUX HEY. I'M SAYING BAD THINGS. HEY.)
(But on a more serious note, ya'll aren't gonna feel any better concerning yourself over this matter. Either go about your day or take a vacation from this place if you can't handle something finally breaking.)

Please stop with all of the overreacting "this forum is going to hell" or "the staff has a bad temper" or "this forum is a punching bag" remarks. Thanks.

(I know your referring only to me) I'll stop after you take it into thought and not just say "stop this stop that".
EDIT: Oh joy, here's an example of that hate and trolling right here, in PM form:

I wrote this to smbxuser>>>(Welcome to the forums.
But sadly, this forum is full of hate. I hope you can deal with it, though.)

Dartmatt wrote this to me in response>>>
(Guess who's not helping and contributing to the problem they're pointing out?

That's right. It's you.)

Can you stop saying this, please? We have never banned you or anyone for sharing their opinions.

it's just that i genuinely fear things happening to me what with you claiming to ban knux and 8bit (idk if knux is actually banned or not because it doesn't say)

Knux and 8bit weren't banned for sharing their opinions.

well a typical me response ain't exactly me sharing my opinion
it's more along the lines of "hahahaha lol"
either way i guess my actual opinion is that this is all confusing and i wish everything would just go back to 'normal' and by that i mean like a week ago

I can see why you take 8bit and knux's complaints with a grain of salt; both make their arguments in a whiny way that makes their points seem less legitimate. On one hand, they're not doing a very good job at strengthening their argument because:

A) They have directly insulted Quill and I can corroborate this
B) They've been constantly complaining about Joey, Quill, and other staff members and users.

Sometimes their remarks seem hateful and they're not making their argument in a mature and honorable way. When a post is made in a whiny manner, people are inclined to ignore the post, and both 8bit and knux should understand this by now.

On the other hand, some of their complaints were legitimate. In knux's case, Quill could have had more patience while mediating the conflict. His response to knux's accusations seemed blunt and rude, especially coming from a staff member. I also dislike how Valtteri ignored knux's points completely. In 8bit's case, I think he was in the wrong and Quill was completely innocent. 8bit wasn't banned permanently, and he chose to reply to Quill with an insult.

To conclude, I think both Quill and Valtteri deserve some form of penalty because they weren't responsible enough. I also think both knux and 8bit should stay banned at least for a week.
