Just Android then. Wine doesn’t count. (Wine is still unstable and crashes often)

Is creating an "Echo" actually somehow possible? You know, usually for castles and caves (since SMB Allstars).
Sure you could kind of modify existing sfxs but this would then effect the whole level at least.

SMBX’s audio system is trash, so I’d say no

checkpoints set to a warp exit that's outside of a section's bounds are now broken. this worked fine in beta 4 and i don't see any highlighted potentially breaking change in the changelogs related to this so i believe it's unintended behavior?

also, if a level's starting point is outside a section's bounds, the level's music will not play.

Maybe, but it is probably easier to just manually replace the sound files with your own echoed sounds.

Well I guess, then that's the way it is. It's a bit dissapointing, but there's nothing you can do about it. Thanks for the replies nevertheless.

Thank you very much for the update.

Is there a reason this still has a beta label on it? That's the one thing preventing the app from taking off.

What do you mean by that? The version is definitely suitable for use. Patches will surely follow, as it did happen with beta 4.
And beta by term most likely because the devteam has not implemented everything yet they wanted to.
I mean, we live in times of early access, non-functional products that you still have to pay for. And if there's a patch, a beta 6 or the full version at some point, you're guaranteed to be able to simply move your project over with all the files and, in the worst case, have to update a few NPCs.

The Twister screws around with the vine (npc-227). At least I think this is NOT supposed to happen.

Got this when Boss Bass wanted to Respawn after killing it. In case it matters, I killed
it with a Red Snifit.

"Defines.jumpspeed" is weird for various reasons IMHO
1. We already have "Defines.jumpheight"?! (and Defines.gravity and Defines.player_grav and Defines.npc_grav)
2. The description "modifying the player's rising speed during a jump." is somehow circuitous described, I don`t know how to say it.
3. The other "defines" have positive values to set, here however is 0 max (tested and an error message said so) and you have to use a negative value. Weird.

Of course, I'm assuming that I don't really know how to use it properly or for what purposes.
The classic Mario games have different feelings when it does come to jumping: SMB vs SMW
I guess you want to offer various settings to let the designer decide, but it would be really cool to have some "example setting sets" in this case.
Your intentions will be good, I'm not questioning that, but I'm just scratching my head as to how you can use it sensibly without coming up with some kind of nonsense.

If you spit out an item next to a wall, it either just falls through or keeps going until it reaches the end or it goes offscreen.

These slopes here are semi solid, floorslope=1 and walkpaststairs = true.
However, from the right side, I can NOT shoot through the slopes, form the left side I can. In case of the left slopes I expect the result to be exactly the other way around. Pretty sure it is a bug as well.
