SMBX 2 editor on linux?

Hello I heard from wohlstand that the smbx 2 team is going to move away from the moon dust editor and make their own.
Does this mean it's going to work on platforms other then windows?

Right now I am using the x tech but I wanted to try out smbx 2.0 stuff without introducing security vulnerabilities by installing wine.

it's a fork of moondust editor so it'll be the same framework just with features more tuned toward smbx2 specifically
