WARNING: This script has some gore in it so scroll down with caution, otherwise turn back now!

Here's a small, yet neat little library that makes the player explode into gruesome bits & pieces in the same vein as "I Wanna Be The Guy" whenever they die!

CONFIG SETTING: show
- gibs.muteDeathSFX - should the normal death SFX still play when gibbed?

Image

HOW TO IMPLEMENT: show
1. Install the files in the link below then copy & paste all of said files to the level/episode folder of your choice.
2. In that level/episode's "luna.lua" file, copy & paste this line below on the top part of said "luna.lua" file:

Code: Select all

gibs = require("iwannabethegib")
3. Save the "luna.lua" file then open up the level/episode that has the library loaded in & die in-game to see that burst of red!

You Died!

Mario was squashed by a falling Thwomp.

Reference to Minecraft

In all seriousness though, can you Modify the bits?

Yes you can actually! You can easily change the graphics & SFX in the same vein as making custom graphics for other stuff!

Oh yes. Alternative death animations. Will it be possible to implement many other death animations, ala Infermax or Prince of Persia? Also here is idea for an option to restrict gruesome effects to one-hit-kills to differentiate normal death and instant death in YouTube Let`sPlays. And separate death music (like 1st 8 notes of Beethoven`s 5th symphony) for shock content.
