The Cave (Fixed)

Postby Tetri the Yumemi Fan » Sat Nov 04, 2023 6:25 am

another level, this time easier but still putted more effort than for level 0, The Cave level will be used for my incoming episode where THIS ONE i wont leave, like i did with my previous project, This level was made within 3 days, without any breaks it was made within like hour (unlike level 0 was made within like minute or less)

i also ask to give opinion on this level, if too short, long or good enough, too low quality of graphic (like backgrounds, or gfx) or if good enough etc

Comment from the person behind Fangamestalgia:

I'm not sure if I'm using the correct version of SMBX

The way the level is set up here, it seems to be kaizo, or maybe I didn't play it right

At the beginning, I couldn't jump because the ceiling was too low, so I opened the editor and fixed the Goomba that kept dying when running the level, but I still couldn't make it.

In the part with the key, I also had some difficulty, but I decided to play as Peach, and by playing as Peach, I managed to get the key.

Then, right after that, you need to make a precise jump, or you'll get hit by the spikes, and then there are some fireballs that, if you pay close attention, you can pass through easily.

After that, the rest of the level is manageable if you know how to play it.

Another issue with the level is the music; it takes up more than 40 MB. Imagine this in an episode? If it were 30 levels with music like this, it would be 40 MB x 30 levels = 1200 MB, which would be excessive.

Level rating: On a scale of 1 to 5 stars, I give it 2 stars or 2 and a half stars.

Anyway, I believe that the creator of this level will be a great level designer.

thanks for the opinion, since there were some issues in the level i decided to fix it so:

the version of smbx is used here the same as level 0 (smbx2)

idk what is kaizo

the beginning where the ceiling is too low is fixed the way i deleted one beetle so you wont get hit easily

i fixed the key part with spikes so its easier (but still quite difficult when youre big)

fireballs werent actually meant to be difficult part so i left it be

and i dont know how to make music in levels less than 10mb because i was using onlymp3 but since its suspicious site so i decided to find other one so lets hope other one will give music files that takes less space on disk

also i fixed some other spike parts where its impossible to pass through without being hit while being big
