Here are a couple of levels that I made throughout the months & years!
Go check em out will ya?

REGRAB KEEP
Spoiler: show
------------------------------------------

DIFFICULTY: Kaizo (Easy-Medium)
A Kaizo level meant to showcase two of my libraries (fastfall.lua, offscreenIndicator.lua) in action! Featuring regrabs (duh), tight platforming, and even 2 secrets to boot!
Level Finalized on: July 7, 2023

IMPOTRTANT NOTE: The physics have been altered for this level via: (physicspatch.lua, fastfall.lua, & antizip.lua).

ANOTHER NOTE: The clear videos are meant to be guides for any player struggling to beat the level. They are not needed to be downloaded alongside the level.

BONUS NOTE: If you're asking, no this isn't the first level I ever made I still have older ones that are yet to be finished/released.

BLUESTONE BEACH
Spoiler: show
------------------------------------------

DIFFICULTY: Medium
This level means alot to me as it's essentially the FIRST level that I have ever finished creating. As my attempts to make one in the past while I was younger barely went anywhere due to my lack of skills/knowledge of SMBX's creation features. It had been sitting in my PC for years with not many people playing... Until now!

Featuring: A small yet, grandiose adventure starring Wario!, level design that looks like it had an identity crisis, Janky Barrels, a surprisingly well-aged aesthetic with beaches, rain, the ususal tropical stuff & A not-so well-aged boss fight.
It even has a well-hidden secret! can you find it?

Level Finalized on: Sometime between April-June 2020 & spruced up a bit in April-May 2021

IMPORTANT NOTE: DO NOT PRESS/HOLD EITHER RUN BUTTONS WHEN SHOOTING OUT OF A BARREL, doing this will force the game to quickly slow down to Wario's run/walkspeed, killing all the speed you get from the barrels! (thanks to Wario's player-script).

EXTRA NOTE: I will not be updating/improving this level as this is a "milestone" to me & how far I've come in the past years & I would like to keep it intact because of that.

NIGHTLY STROLL IN THE WOODS (Choccy Con 2023 - 16th Place)
Spoiler: show
------------------------------------------

DIFFICULTY: Kaizo (Easy)

A SMM2-SMW styled kaizo level that takes place in well, the woods where all you need is to simply run & jump to win. No shelljumps, item throwing, game exploits, nothing else. It's just that easy!
There's also two secrets to be found in the level aswell! Can you find em both?
Level Finalized on: October 31, 2023

IMPORTANT NOTE: THIS LEVEL ONLY WORKS IN SMBX2 BETA 4 - PATCH 4 AS IT USES A LIBRARY THAT ONLY WORKS WITHIN THAT VERSION

LAYERS OF IDIOCY (Vanill-ish Con 2024 - 10th Place)

------------------------------------------

DIFFICULTY: Hard
An experimental madhouse of a vanilla level with utterly wild, yet unique visuals that
also takes advantage of the many quirks of one of SMBX's most well-known features, Layers!
Level Finalized on: April 9, 2024

NOTE: The "Todd" costume shown in the screenshots does not come within the download of this level.

as practice in making more shorter levels after making one that was WAY too long!

hey if it's not too much trouble (in the future) could you specify when you're using the physics patch somewhere in the level post itself? would be helpful

Holy moly, Jumping Warioli! Ahem

From the Volcano Piranha setups to the background music, the level excels at capturing what makes Mario Forever so beloved. I love that each star coin requires you to use Jumping Lui's jump height, but still finds different ways to challenge the player. The small bonuses throughout the level help encourage the player to keep their power up. Due to the nature of the setups, the level begins to feel a tad bit repetitive after the checkpoint. But I don't have a clear answer on how you mix up the level's elements without risking it losing its Mario Forever vibe. It's a fun short level overall!

Side note: The Super Mushroom places over the custom Powerup in the player's inventory. I don't know if this is a known custom Powerup bug.

Thanks for the review!
Yeeeaaaagg I sorta just ran out of ideas at the last third of the level as I want to keep my enemy palettes small, yet very tight to get the most out of them & make sure that all of the ideas I can think of get fleshed out for better or for worse.

As for this, it is infact a customPowerups.lua bug & ive already informed Marioman2007 about it & it'll be fixed in a future update.

Have a fun sprint!
I originally didn't like this level when I first played in the Contest episode. It felt like it would never end after the "upgrade" section. It was a large chain of jank physics and precise setups without a break. "Softcore Kaizo" wasn't my cup of tea, either. I struggled a lot on the "recoil on an enemy, then jump forward" and the "jump backwards on a 3 block width platform into a zig-zag coin rush" segments. I felt like I wasn't making progress until I got lucky.

However, on replay, I have a newfound appreciation for this level. It is a surprisingly enjoyable experience after you learn the ins and outs of the level. Outside of the difficulty, it is a very technical and fast-paced level. I really liked Wario's (rewrote and upgraded) movesets. It gave me the ability to chain different platforming techniques stylishly. If my memory serves me well about your previous (kaizo) levels, Shobon Sprints felt easier and more fun. I liked the aesthetics, and the Cat Mario references are neat.

I do like your approach to this type of Wario level. Maybe less about kaizo but more about technical platforming. Though I would prefer if the hurt block hitboxes are more lenient (like MrDoubleA's kindHurtBlock?).
