I know this sounds... kinda clueless, but is smbx2 still being worked on? i would have put this in my "new website & other questions" thread but it was locked. if you know, please tell!

Yep, it is. Progress is slow from what I know, but the game IS being worked on.

If you want to keep tabs on SMBX2 development you can check out the codehaus server.
Partically the #smbx2-dev and #git-updates channel.

SMBX2 progress tends to slow down the closer it gets to an update because as it typically goes, certain pieces of tech generally have to wait on other pieces of tech or on someone who knows best how to do the things. The next one (beta 5?) might?? be sooner than we think. It's coming. They're slow but steady and ultimate that's what matters.

Based on the informations on the following link:

I thought it was most likely that the major release of version 2 rather than the 5th beta would be available for download next.  

However, that could change.

Yes. As you can see, beta 5. It's still on development stage.

Beta 5 currently dropped, i should say that the are still on pogress! (hopefully...)
