for the record i wanted to give the player a mushroom at the start of each phase but the game freezing during the power down animation would just destroy a bunch of stuff and i really wanted to make sure the animations were as well-synced with the attacks as possible. my placement wouldn't have changed even with a max score in creativity so i'm pretty satisfied.
i also did learn a few things myself like "one generator second is not equal to one event timer second", "some npcs can only be on an attached layer if the layer is hidden" and "redigit passionately dislikes double-precision floats". cool contest!
