Dark Land

Gfx & Design: 4/10

There were a few custom gfx in this level, which would've looked if they had've been used differently. The vines hanging from wooden blocks looked really out of place in this lava level.
Also the ground could've been made more interesting. Instead of these platforms I suggest you could've used sizeables and then placed some scenery and bgos on it.
There was really nasty cutoff in some places, like this one

Also I would't really count it as cutoff, but if you are gonna use the Bowser bricks, then at least use the extended tileset, because these blocks naturally have cutoff on the sides, and paired with the lava or the castle chessboard ground, it just looked plain awful.

The background was more grey-ish than dark, and I suggest you make it darker to fit the level more.

Designwise, there were some places that were really hard and almost impossible. Actually so hard, that Luigifan2010 ragequit and made me review this level.
Especially the part already mentioned, with the spikes coming out of a lava wall and a grinder on it that I suppose you had to spinjump through or something... The level may be supposed to be hard, but it should still be beatable.

Music: 2/10

The music sounded western-like and didn't fit the level at all in my opinion. I know it's called "Land of Dead World", but that doesn't automatically mean it fits a lava level.
I suggest you use something more fitting? Maybe Melty Molten Galaxy from SMG would've been a good pick for this level.

NPCs: 4/10

There was a good range of NPCs in this level, but most of them were really just there to annoy the player like the Hoopsters and the Podobos. The Hoopsters were a help in some places, in other places they were a curse, because they were always in the way, no matter from what angle you jumped.

Also you somehow managed to place every single roto-disc one block too high! This actually turned out to be a good thing, because that meant more space for the player, but in the future, remember that the roto-disc rotates 2 blocks around the center, not one. :)

There were a few coins in the end that were over a lava pit behind the star, I don't know how you're supposed to get them, but this was really unnecessary.

Gameplay: 3/10

This was a hard, but relatively short level. This is a good thing for players who like challenges, but for the average player it will just be annoying (reminder: Luigifan got so frustrated that he made me review this level, and I didn't beat it either without cheating.)

The idea with the grinder-jump was good, but there was a little glitch that if you stand on the starting platform for a few seconds without moving, the grinder disappears and you're stuck.
Also after the first chessboard-floor part, there was a jump that was impossible to do without the tanooki suit, which made it really annoying because you had to somehow get to that point without losing it and that's just cruel.

The lava-gimmick is a bit overused by now, and you even said the level was a parody of Lava Run. Next time try to come up with something more creative. :)

Overall, this level was okay, but really hard. I don't recommend playing it to the average player, but if you like challenges, this could be something for you. 3.25/10, moved to Average.
