Episodes where many levels have multiple exit stars?

Postby let me register cmon » Sat Nov 26, 2022 3:54 pm

I am looking for episodes playable on SMBX 1.3 where levels generally have 3 or more exit stars. Most episodes I come across have non-exit stars as the primary collectible (SMB the New Beginning, Star Expedition) or only have 1-2 exit stars per level (New Great Castle Adventure), which is fine but doesn't scratch the itch of something closer to SM64 but in 2D.
So far I've only found Subcon Stars to fit my criteria. What else is there? Thanks.

Is there a reason why you're unable to use SMBX2 or SMBX 38A?

Yes, I use TheXTech on Android and it plays 1.3 episodes. As far as I know there is no way to play X2 or 38A on Android.

Thanks, I will check it out.
(BTW the Google Drive link in your OP is dead, but I found your episode in the preservation archive.)

The biggest example where many levels have many stars exists is "ASMBXT: Prelude To The Stupid". Several levels do have many different paths, and each of the paths leads to the leek (replacement of stars here) exit. So, to complete all of them, you have to replay the same level as many times as many leeks it has.

If you want to play this on Android, you can, there is a ready-to-play assets package:
https://github.com/Wohlstand/TheXTech/w ... the-stupid

1) Download it
2) Unpack it into any convenient directory, for example into "TheXTech Games"
3) At TheXTech's launching screen, press the Right-Top icon, and select "Add game...", then select the path to the unpacked Prelude To The Stupid game.
4) Start it.
5) If you want to play normal SMBX and ASMBXT, just use the Right-Top menu to switch between games.
