Super Mario Bros. Redux

Disclaimer: Progress is likely to take a while, as I have a lot of things to do at once and I don't go on SMBX every day, but bit by bit this will get done, and eventually this will be a complete remake and more.

What Is Super Mario Bros. Redux?

Super Mario Bros. Redux is a remake of the original Super Mario Bros with the level design/aesthetics of the AllStars version and enemy placement from the original game (I don't think they're very different, but I do know there is a couple of blocks that are in the AllStars release that wern't in the original. Also if I need a graphic from the AllStars version I can rip it straight from the maps I'm using).

The goal is to emulate every level as accurately as possible, while throwing some secrets on the side too, along with a nine level bonus world! It will also have an actual overworld (which Super Mario Bros. Deluxe did, but mine will be different), extra secrets, etc. It's basically Super Mario Bros. but expanded.

Updates:

So I went on another hiatus. I know, I need to stop doing this. Basically, when I came back I got a friend to help me do this. We're now working together to help churn out these maps a lot faster. Even better is that he is primarily going to focus on Bowser's Revenge (see below for more info). This means that I can focus directly on the main levels without needing to worry about the bonus world.

Why is that a pow block even though you called it Star Power?

I would've put a star there, but as there is no star in SMBX I had to improvise instead. I originally considered giving a 1-up instead of stars, but that just seemed like an easy way to farm 1-ups, so a POW block seemed like the next best idea.

I think that one upside Rainbow Koopa Shell that appears for some seconds, or hide all enemies in enemies layer for some seconds can be a best idea.

Hmm, maybe. I'll consider it, but right now I only have a tiny bit done so it will definitely change at some point.

Even though the pow block is cool in the level, you can make your own invincibility star using custom graphics, layers, and events.

I might try and give that a go, it might take a little bit to actually get to work but when it does it will certainly seem like a better choice than a POW block.

Really, it's impossible, even with these things.

Yeah. I figured that out myself.

How about Mouser being a boss of World 3?
