Hello guys. This is my first episode ever, called "Another New Super Mario Bros.". Of course it has this name because it is yet another Mario platformer.

Story:
Spoiler: show
Princess Peach invited Mario, Luigi and Toad to eat some cake in her castle. However, Bowser appeared and tried to kidnap her. They managed to escape, but Bowser got mad for failing. So, he ordered Kamek to teleport the castle to a far away place. Now Mario, Luigi, Peach and Toad must find Peach's castle and convince Bowser to put it back in the right place (even if they need to fight him to do so!).
Screenshots (Don't worry, more are coming soon!)
Spoiler: show

This looks pretty interesting. Seems reminiscent of Newer SMB1. Though I would like to point out that the green outline on the bush looks weird.

Thanks to both of you. I personally don't think the bush looks weird, but I will probably change it.

This project looks good so far. I hope you are not putting too many Bush elements into your Levels because that would of look a bit weird in my opinion. Also, at the second screen it kinda looks like a direction to SMB - The Lost Levels just how it looks by the design decorated like that but that does not really matter because it looks good.

Looking forward to your SMBX Episode.

By linear you mean going from left to right? The first level is like that, but some levels will have parts where you need to climb up, go down or find your way trought a maze.

I added a screenshot of the bonus room in the first level. What do you guys think?

I can't really see it for some reason. I think you forgot to add it on your first post of this Topic.

I'm see future in this episode. The enclosed instruction book too.

Well, this episode looks great. But i think that the "Another New Super Mario Bros." don't combine. I think that not is too late to change the title. But if want that the title stay this, it's okay. It's your choose.

I couldn't think of any better name. But if anyone has a better idea I'm all for changing it.

Sorry if this is an unnecessary bump, but I just wanted to say that I probably won't upload screenshots for a long while. Don't worry tough, the project is still being worked on. ;)

I'm really sorry to triple post, but I'm not going to wait for someone else to revive this thread.

Sometime ago, I had some problems. I needed to get a new computer and lost every bit of my progress. Thankfully, I only had one completed level, so I didn't lose much. After a long time, I finally decided to continue this project. Expect updates soon!

Long time since I not looked you in the forum, I'm happy to see you again, and that this project is in progress, here are a few suggestions though:
  • On the first screen, the cloud is very low, you should raise it a bit to make it look more natural.
  • On the second screen, the pipe is buried down in a very strange way, you should extend it a bit and avoid spaces too narrow, with 2 players would be a problem.
  • In the third screenshot, if you remove loadable blocks SMB3, you will see a cut-off.
I looking forward to see more progress on this, and you did not decide to cancel the project as 90% of the guys here. (:

Thanks guys! As for the tips, I'm going to redo the entire level anyway, but I will take them into consideration.
