The Community Today (Regarding activity)

Postby PopYoshi » Mon Jul 11, 2022 7:37 pm

I've been away some time from the community
I remember having friends here but not sure how active they are here right now

I'm aware that forums have lost activity and I've seen way more activity in the Discord server

Honestly I'm curious if anyone else has noticed it

Or if anyone has a tip to interact with the community because tbh I'd like to reincorporate to the SMBX community

Hi, yes, the SMBX community seems to frequent the official Discord server more than the forums, as it's easier for them to showcase their content in one place in a streamlined process. The forums are not used as often as before, though we still use it to post progress on our projects, and even put up our completed LunaLUA stuff and completed episodes for download later on.

I'm among those users who have mostly moved to the SMBX Discord to discuss stuff and even post progress on my projects and graphics.

For starters you can start joining the Discord server and making sure to follow the rules and stuff in there. There's a lot of active people in there, you can even ask for help regarding SMBX in the #help channel and they might get back to you in a few minutes or so. (Note that some also have a personal life so don't expect a quick response)

Oi, thank you for the advice, that's very nice
Thank you for telling me where's the activity, I guess it's just the logic step since many communities today are on Discord

I've never been on this forum site for more than two years after I moved on to do other things that I have in life, especially for my other social media accounts.

It's been clear that many of these users barely post anything through the forums, since I believe that many users seem to be more active on the official SMBX Discord server. But aside I only saw a few people posting their progress on their projects, heck even my thread from nearly five years ago has became my most view thread through the forums since five years.

The community is somehow active on the forums, although not usually. While I can agree with everyone has their focus on life, they seem to be much more active on the official SMBX Discord Server compare to how the community it the forums today. I was quite suprised of how the forums don't seem to post anything that much even by today's standards.

I've been on this forum site since five years ago, and I haven't post anything ever since then.

I also returned after a long absence, but I have seen people still using the forum quite a bit actually

I would say the community activity hasn't dropped overall but yes it's mostly on Discord now.
Also contest participation rate is having an upward trend.

I have to say that this community used to be more alive back then.
While some say that activity merely moved to discord, I would have to say that the real activity died off in the process.
