An SMW Adventure

Original Title: New Super Mario World X



Massive episode. May take a long time even though I have the entire episode already mapped out. Just don't have the time to grind this project.This project is an SMW styled, using graphics from or close to the SMW style. All music is from SMW https://www.smwcentral.net/

DIFFICULTY: INSANELY HARD

It’s looking pretty nice! It kinda looks strange having shrubs coming out of the water, but that’s nitpicking. Very nice work so far my friend!

SMBX2 Corrupted My files and it wont be able to run on my pc

Do you mind elaborating? To my knowledge, SMBX2 is incapable of corrupting anything, so if you could perhaps PM me a zip of the non-working files so I can investigate, maybe I can un-corrupt it and find out what went wrong.

if your computer bluescreened or your power went out while you were saving a level, that level file would probably be corrupted (as would any file being written to at the time), but in that case you can just use the ".bak" file that is automatically generated by PGE specifically for such an event.

If everything is compatible with 1.3. it would mean the project is not based on current SMBX2 or 38A etc.?!

I see the starcoins on your screenshots, however at the end it is just one of many features of "modern SMBX".
AFAIK 1.3 created episodes are compatible with SMBX2 anyway, right? (most known example: invasion 2)

I am not sure if I forgot something here or anything ...

Edit: So, actually .. would it not be enough just to have 1 version, if I understood that right?

I am going to replace the starcoins with something else, so dont worry. This episode is compatible with smbx 1.3 and smbx2. It was made with smbx 1.3, so naturally, you can play it in smbx2.

Ok, so my guess was right in that respect. Because of the Starcoins alone, it makes little sense to offer 2 versions. You can't even do anything effectively with the Starcoins (the template is given for lua scripts). SMBX2 or 38a is so much more than that
(I remember back then when I wanted a Game Boy Color [had the big and grey one first] as a kid and my mom thought I only wanted it because of the colored shell :D)
Ultimately it's your decision, but I wouldn't do it just because of Starcoins alone.
Those who give 1.3 still a chance will also play it without them and those who are active in SMBX2 might expect more to see (a great variety of npcs, Parallaxing Backgrounds, maybe some scripts which simply can not be done with the editor interface itself etc.)

This looks very cool, it reminds me of the smw romhacks kind of. Nice job.
Can’t wait to play this! It is also smbx 1.3 which means that it will feel more nostalgic!
