I don't know. Back up your stuff now if you have anything you want to save.

Two questions for anyone with remote interest in the wiki (or potential newsletter):

1. Have you backed up all of the current wiki stuff that you want to save so I can wipe the wiki?
2. Is there interest in rebooting the wiki/starting a newsletter? These things will take a lot of effort and time.

I think we should wipe and then reboot the wiki but abandon the newsletter idea and instead create a current SMBX events page that gets updated weekly/monthly.

So...a newsletter?

What kind of smbx events though? The only ones are the cc ones that would come in mind.

Yeah, and since Joey doesn't support PGE, there's really nothing to talk about, except for CCs.

Well, I'd consider a newsletter more of something that is, well a newsletter that would be in a pdf, etc. and sent out to users via PM or e-mail. A current events page could/would be less formal.

Maybe any of the following:
- re-introduce the featured episodes as a "Popular Episodes" section of the Current Events page with a list of 1-2 of each
- re-introduce the featured graphics as a "Popular GFX" section of the Current Events page with a list of 1-2 of each
- recent community contest and MAGLx results/link to the current community contest MAGL
- current unnofficial contests/results of contest hosted by non-administrative users (but create a guideline that they will not be posted on the board until there is a panel of at least 3 judges and 3 participating contestants, or something similar to that, numbers don't need to be exactly what I said)
- annoucements could additionally be posted
- updates on/new tools for SMBX (npc code editor, LunaLua, PGE, Overhaul mod, etc.)
- trending/popular topics?

I don't "not support PGE".

And the newsletter can be for stuff that's happening in the community, SMBX-related or not.

Hey, you know there's already a news page on the wiki. I added a recent event about 2 days ago. The news page is from the time of the TOB6 though. And yes, I'm ready for the wipe. ;)

Assuming this is still going ahead as planned, I might make a start writing articles for the new Wiki in some txt files when I get a spare moment. At least that way, there'll be some content to add to the new one when it is started.

SMBX.org Wiki blank?!

I navigated to www.supermariobrosx.org/wiki, and only got a blank white page as a result. Is this ANOTHER attempt by King Internet to keep me from getting at the information I'm after (how to use LunaLua)? It appears that engine.wohlnet.ru "conveniently" went down right as I'm trying to find how to use LunaLua, and now, the wiki page on this site has also been erased. Why is this happening?

I'm going to have to get the info directly from another user, as the internet has proven to be a rather crooked "entity" bent on thwarting my searching progress by any means necessary.

I think the wiki page in SMBX.org is under contruction at this point... but I remember back then that it was still there and it had to completly revamp it I think.

Joey has been planning to take down the wiki for some time now; he had all of the former editors back up their articles a couple of months ago. It'll be back soon, but restarted from scratch (except for articles that are reuploaded). I think Joey mentioned something about bringing it back in association with SMBX 2.0 in the 2.0 announcement thread.

Also, moved to Supermariobrosx.org. Help & Support is a forum for discussion of the SMBX game itself.

Instead of wiping the old wiki, I moved it to the archive: http://archive.supermariobrosx.org/wiki-12-07-15/

The current wiki has better integration with our forum accounts (logging in/out is done completely through the forums, if you're logged in on the forums it'll use the same session for the wiki). Feel free to log in and test it out but don't do anything else yet. Please report any bugs you find with logging in/out.

EDIT: Looks like the wiki archive is down. I'll fix that at some point.
