1. Story
Long time after he lost the race and thus his title of yoshis leader, Boshi accepted his fate. However, the more time passes, the greater his thrist for power is, therefore, he wants to become the chief once again. The yoshis refused very quickly, but the blue dinosaur, to prove his strength, gives himself the challenge to come back with the 4 golden eggs, which are difficult to access. If he accomplishes this challenge, then he regains his title of leader.
2. Gameplay Boshi can float in the air for a short time by pressing "Jump" again.
He can also throwing eggs, you have to press "Alt. run" to display the target, "Up" and "Down" to move it and release "Alt. run". Pressing "Drop Item" prevents Boshi to throw. Boshi has 9 HPs, when they're drained, you lose a live.
Each level has three dragon coins. Like Yoshi's Island, those flowers throw collectable eggs. Collectable eggs can be found in ? blocks too, they give you 9 eggs. Green apple add 1 HP to boshi, and cookies are the equivalent to star.

I finished the 6th level, the chosen theme is the sea and I added enemies as pokey, hammer brother or lakitu with a redefined AI, here's some screenshots.
How does this look more like an actual NES game than an SMBX episode?
"Reducing" the screen to NES resolution, used only 4 palets to tiles and 4 palets to sprites with each one 4 colors including one transparent and using famitracker to create musics like what NES sound like.

I released the ost from what I composed right now, it goes up to the beach theme, the 13th music.
Composed with E-Famitracker, an edited version of famitracker by EulousDev with extra chips from other systems like SID and a fantasy version of 2A03: 5A01. So you get 2 noise channels and 2 DPCM channels.
I finished the 7th level, its theme is around lava and heat, so you will get podoboos, but there're also fully functional machine rope. (See the first screenshot)
Some news, the whole level 8 is almost done, the only left thing to do is the boss.
You will enter into a haunted house with ghosts and a lot of Dry Bones and you will be in a maze.
I took time to make it due to other stuffs to do, but I'm still happy about the result, especially with the camera logic in the first half of the level.

I'm satisfied with the progress of the project, more than half of the levels has been made (12 on 20), I'm planning to release the final beta when I'll finish the 4th and the special world at the same time. It will take time for sure, I complete a world around every 3 months, but I want to finish this fan game.
After I finished my shop system, I come back to the development of my fangame. The 4th and final world will be a castle, here's a video of the first level:
Otherwise, an idea which will be included in the previous levels: Question blocks that can only be hit by eggs, I wonder why I didn't get this earlier.
It's been a while there's not any news for months and I didn't touch this game, I don't think I'll finish it one day, indeed, the desire to video game creation is very low, even dead, I'd rather spending times for drawing and furry fandom. Back in time, my two main hobbies are drawing and development, with my IRL stuffs I no longer have free time, and I must juggle between those two hobbies, being a perfectionist, I was putting on myself pressure, and I was feeling guilty If I didn't spend enought times on drawing or development.
As a result, I prefer to put an end to the development, in any case, It was a very rewarding experience, and I encounter nice people. I wish you all the best.
