SMBX2 Launcher not working

Hey guys, first time I've been here in a while.

Anyways, I finally decided to give SMBX2 a go after using 1.3 for years, and well, I downloaded it, and it's not working.

When I click on the main launcher, nothing happens. It does start a background process in my task manager, but nothing loads up. I tried re-installing several times, using the patch that was with the main download, running as administrator, and even making sure the folder/Launcher app was allowed through my antivirus, but none of that seems to work.

After further troubleshooting, I eventually found that I can run the LunaLauncher and LunaLauncher_exec files, which take me straight to the main game, but as far as the main Launcher, nothing is working, which means I can't access the Level Editor.

Anyone else having or had this issue? Kinda stuck in a rut here.

Edit: I'm running Windows 10 if that means anything.

does it appear as a suspended process? if so, you can try forcefully unsuspending it, and if that doesn't work, you might be forced to forego the launcher in favor of going to the "data" folder and launching the game using "LunaLoader.exe" directly.

i used to have the same problem on my old pc and despite not switching operating systems in the meantime, the launcher works on my new one fine, which (likely) means it's some sort of hardware issue.

It doesnt appear to be suspended, no.

Is there a way to get to the Editor from the LunaLoader.exe? Like I said that one works but it takes me straight to the main game, I can't seem to find any way to access the Level Editor.

the editor can be accessed either by right-clicking on a level file and selecting "edit" or running "data/PGE/pge_editor.exe"

Oh, cool! That worked, and I'll just create shortcuts to the Editor and LunaLoader for now. I won't need both most of the time, anyways.

Thanks for the help man, I was having trouble with this for a couple hours.

That's strange. I have an notebook which has Windows 10 on it, and when I start SMBX2' launcher, it works fine for me. :\

It appears as if you are not the only one who is suffering from this issue.
I tried everything, reinstalling, adding an antivirus exception, running in administrator and compatibility mode, no dice.

The solution to the problem was to do what deice said; Run pge_editor.exe and LunaLoader.exe directly.
