How do I beat Birdo?

I'm a new SMBX player and I've been playing The Princess Cliché. The first level is mostly easy, but I don't know how to beat Birdo! It's not that I don't know the strategy, I know that I have to pick up Birdo's eggs and throw them at him, but I don't know how to beat it. Can you help?

The easiest way to defeat Birdo is to ignore her eggs and just use the vegetables instead. Alternatively, use Yoshi to eat the eggs and counter her attacks that way. In terms of picking up the eggs, you will have to press down and the run button simultaniously.

Try The Invasion 2 anyway - I had no clue too the first time I played Princess Cliche in 2015, but doing TI2 helped, it contains all the basics

I have to agree with this. The Invasion 2 is a lot more beginner-friendly than The Princess Cliché, but a lot of new users start with that episode because it is on top of the episode list.
