how do i fix the effects?

hello, i was looking through the forums trying to figure this out but coudlnt really find anything that fit, so badically i have a custom enemy sprite for a goomba, that works perfectly fine, but when i kill it with a fireball lets say its custom death effect is cut off and broken whenever it appears, is there a way to adjust the size and frames on an effect or is it impossible? thank you and merry christmas :)

You can set the size and frames of an effect with txt. files. If you wanna know more about effects: viewtopic.php?t=26207

thank you for linking me this, its pretty helpful, but im still quite perplexed on how exactly to do it, i have some of the commands in a text file already such as frames and frame style, but the problem im having still applies, the changes in the text file just dont get applied, maybe its because i named the text file the wrong thing? i currently have it named "effect-52" since for normal npc sprites you just name the text file after its source sprite to make it work. do i have to name it something different?

using txt files to customize effects works only for effects above id 161. if you want to create a custom effect for an npc which already has an effect id reserved below that, you have to make the actual effect invisible and spawn a custom one when the npc dies through lua.
