I recently got a new PC with a lot of good stuff, don't wanna pay around 1M+ dollars again if my PC gets a trojan. I downloaded it from the official site and I scanned it on VT (VirusTotal) and it has like 2 detections, and on the relations tab it has lots of exe's with detections ranging from 1 to 4. Please help...

Those are false positives. SMBX2 is safe, and you can contact the development team if you have any more questions.

Thanks, also why can't I download older versions? Malwarebytes is blocking the site and marking it as a trojan, don't know if that's a false positive though...

Which version are you trying to download? SMBX-38A, also known as 1.4, is flagged by a lot of antiviruses do flag it as a trojan. It isn't actually a version of SMBX, but rather a completely different game. This is most likely also a false positive, but you should run it in a virtual machine if you aren't sure.

SMBX 1.3 however has practically no reason to use nowadays. SMBX2 can play 1.3 content perfectly fine, and even when it can't there's always TheXTech. If you absolutely must use 1.3, you can download it here.

Also, you should NEVER pay anything if you get ransomware. By doing so, you're just proving that it works.

False positives do occur from similarities in code or compression. I learned that programs should always be downloaded from official sites, and I think we qualify as such for SMBX
