English translation by Edux Kamiz
This contest is being done by the SMBX hispanic community, everyone interested can join, even non-spanish speakers.
Welcome to the fifth hispanic contest organized by the “SMBX Equipo Estelar” community, since we are approaching the holidays, we have decided some special themes for it that you can choose, those are:
*Snow themed levels
*Beach themed levels
*Toy factories
*Christmas-related environments
Time available to send your levels: November 28th, 2021 – January 15th 2022
Announcement video, (note that the video is in spanish):
*CONTEST RULES
*The level can be done either in SMBX 1.4.5 (38A) or SMBX2.
*Only 1 level per participant, without teaming up.
*You can use custom graphics, don’t forget to give credits to their respective owners.
*Don’t make use of extended music.
*You can use scripts or custom characters of your choice.
*Kaizo levels are not allowed.
*We suggest that the level’s name differs from something like “contest level” or “level40”, you can try to put an original name to it!
*It is not required that the level is in a Spanish language.
*JUDGES
*SuperKoopa, Edux Kamiz, Marcos May and CasimeCat are the main judges for the event.
*Alex Toadstool and Ignacio25 are auxiliar judges, they will evaluate the levels in case one of the main judges can’t do it.
*EVALUATION RUBRIC
The levels will get a score from 0 to 10, based on these two main points:
*AUDIOVISUALS*
Graphics, the theme in general, sprite styles, color palletes, cut-offs, music and sound effects count here.
*PLAYABILITY*
Level design, gimmicks, enemy use and spreading, collectables, glitches and errors, shortcuts, difficulty overall and other related points count here.
It is not necessary to follow all the previously mentioned points; it is a guide if you want to know what is considered in this contest.
Also, the judges may or may not add some small notes or details that are not necessarily related to both categories.
The judges can reduce a big amount of score if the level is designed to annoy them on purpose, as well if it is a stolen one, they also have the chance to play it on God Mode in case it is extremely hard to complete.
*HOW TO SEND YOUR LEVEL?
You will have to reply to the post made in the SMBX Equipo Estelar forum, “Envía tu nivel aquí” (click here to go directly to the post), with the next details:
*Level name
*Level author
*Version (SMBX 1.4.5 or SMBX2)
*Recommendable playable character (Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, Link, etc.)
*Download link
*A video of the level (THIS ISN’T REQUIRED, it is completely optional, but we suggest it to send it to ease the work of recording)
-If you need to update your entry, you will have to edit your comment, as well as leave a note with all the changes done to it.
-In order to qualify your level, the download link has to be in public access, we will collect the last version of each level on January 9th, to then proceed to send it to the judges.
*WHAT DOES THE LEVEL HAVE TO INCLUDE?
The level folder has to be organized in this way:
*The level file (.lvl or .lvlx) outside of the graphics folder.
*If it has custom graphics, they have to be inside a folder.
*If it includes music or personalized sound effects, they have to be alongside the level file.
*In case you consider it necessary, you can insert a text file explaining the things to keep in mind when testing your level, as well as the credits for graphics and others.
Here is an example, of course, you don’t have to name every file this way if you don’t want to:

*CONTEST REWARDS
The first 3 places will get a medal, like these:

*CONTEST RESULTS
The results will go up some time after the deadline to send levels has ended, since the deadline is on January 15th, we might get the results late early February, it depends on how many people participate as well as the availability of the judges.
We will also post narrated videos on our YouTube page about the results, although, just to clarify, they will be in Spanish.
Good luck to everyone, and may the best win!
If you have any questions, you can ask them.
