Hi friends! I hope you are all doing well.

I have been working on a game for SMBX 1.4.4 for a few years. I have been running SMBX on Windows 7 through Parallels. I will probably eventually port the project on to Windows 10 through the MacBook Pro's BootCamp utility, but for now it works. I realize there are others who are still using Windows 7.

I recently figured out how to get the PS5 (Playstation 5) DualSense controller working normally (minus the rumble) with the SMBX program on Windows 7. What happened was when I used the PS5 controller, all of the sounds went off on SMBX.

THE SOLUTION: Under Devices and Printers, right-click your controller and select Sound Settings. Under Playback and Recording tabs, the default device under each tab had been automatically switched to the PS5 DualSense (listed as "Wireless Controller"). Set it back to your usual output device (like speakers or headphones).

I wanted to tell you this in case any of you also run into this hiccup.

Take care... :D

Honestly still using W7 after over a year of no support and even with W11 on the horizon feels very awkward

It seems like Windows 10 runs so many programs better than Windows 7 (and the MacBook Pro, for that matter). Like I said, I will probably eventually move the project to Windows 10 through BootCamp. I have a few great old games that I just can't get working on Windows 10 (even with compatibility adjustments) that run fine on Windows 7. It's just hard to let go. I do look forward to Windows 11. I just hope it has good backward compatibility.

EDIT: Thank you, Cedur, for giving me a hard time about Windows 7, or else I might not have known how good SMBX runs on Windows 10.
