Hawkeyeone's Opinion on Video Games: Sonic CD

Sonic CD is a Sega CD game released in 1993 as a sequel to the original Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega CD. The story is that Sonic finds a huge ass planet one day and goes into it because he thinks Robotnik's in there or something and that's how the game goes. There's also time travel and the first appearances of Metal Sonic, Sonic's robot counterpart, and Amy Rose, who should only have ever been in this game because she doesn't talk in this. It was released in 1993 to critical acclaim, praising its colorful graphics, FMV cutscenes, and great gameplay. Nowadays, retrospective reviews tend to bitch and moan about the US soundtrack and how it sucks so much. Fuck those people.

What's your opinion on Sonic CD?

Super Metroid was released for the Super Nintendo, and set up an entire genre. In this game, you are Samus Aran, a female galactic bounty hunter who is looking for the last metroid in the depths of Planet Zebes. However, it is not straightforward like good ol' Mario. You will be exploring alot, gathering items as you keep going deeper into the hostile planet.

The soundtrack is just amazing, as are the graphics. There are loads of items to collect, and ice, even I can't get 100%. To add some spice into the game, the creators added some tricks such as wall jumping and shinesparks. These can be used to get to places quicker, goof off, or even get some items before you are supposed to. But wait, there's more! There are loads of baddies that you can destroy with your new upgrades. Statues coming to life. Content from this game in our very own Smbx. There are even pipes with bugs in them that look like the Mario ones.

If you haven't played it, do it. I dare you to. And if you don't have an Snes or can't find a copy, emulators save the day. Or Vizzed, whatever. You might just learn some things from it...

Hmm... is this really a game we have right now? I never saw this game into the light, sadly.

@Murphmario: But this has nothing to do with @Hawkeyeone's Message.
